Target arrows, mouse aiming.
Two things I think would really help would be mouse aiming for more accuracy and colored arrows at the sides of the screen showing where the enemy is.

Currently, all you have is that tiny radar and your auto fire, which fires if you are aiming at them, the only way I know I'm aiming at them.

I'm constantly in a situation where all I can do is speed up, turn around and hope that my shots will travel fast enough to hit him but his too slow to hit me and they always seem just off the screen at that distance, which makes you have to guess where they are.

Maybe there could be a target indicator upgrade or something.

The current system is more like a simulation, which is not something bad, but it feels like the computers have a clear edge over you when it comes to aiming.

Would also generally be nice to have some indication (besides the radar) if ships are friendly or hostile. I often set ships just turn and shoot at me, long before I check them out on the radar.

It's a must-have.
Targeting with arrows is pain in the neck.
And the minimap is too small to understand what the colors are and where :d

If you are targeting an enemy, the target reticle tells you where it is (and the ship is white in the radar).

You can also increase the ui zoom (I recommend getting the high dpi plugin if you do) to draw the radar, etc larger. This is helpful for big screens but useless on small ones.
