Endless Sky

i THINK i beat the main campaign, what now?
The FW war story, don't want to post spoilers. Was that the main campaign? I know there's a ton I never saw, I never found the Hai, or went the wormholes don't do anything (can't interact with them) what should I do next? How many side quests have I locked myself out of?

There is SO much more out there! Tell me in spoiler tags how it ended, and I'll let you know if there is more to that.
As for wormholes... Simply Land on the blue ones. You can get to Hai space through one. The red ones require a Quantum Keystone which you can buy from any Hai outfitter but otherwise operate the same.

In addition to what @Tauman said: There are a couple systems on the west east of human space that occasionally get some non-human visitors (no, not the Quarg. Do Not Attack A Quarg Ship!). Try disabling one, boarding it and taking its outfits. If you don't want to use them, the outfits are worth good money, but keep the Jump Drive for yourself. It will open up all the rest of the galaxy, and those aliens you got it from are a "renewable" source of more Jump Drives

It is much more productive to do that from Remnant space than from there. And I think you meant East?

I don't use spoiler posts in the opening topic because the preview of the top does censor them, found that out the hard way, steam needs to get on that.

The syndicate were behind the nukes, fought the alphas, got the commendation and 5mill credits, (lol i'm far richer than that but w/e, I have a Jump Drive, a Cloak, and I barreled through this FW campaign because I bricked my first two games. so I laser focused this campaign and ignore literally everything else. my map is still 100% HUMAN systems, i've only met the Quargs and the Pugs, and that was for the story. Imagine the map of FW, Republic, Deep and Syndicate at the start of the game. that's LITERALLY all I've done.

89 million in the bank, and a FW Dreadnought. Never met the Remnants, the Hai, or anything else at all, I have NOT at all gone north east except for the story portion that meets up at Farpoint. 82 hours played atm and that's where I'm at. I had false starts thanks to how ez it is to brick the campaign and get nothing popping without META knowledge. I've only seen wormholes twice and they were purple.

Should I just start a new game and completely avoid the main story to get the other stories? Have I locked myself our of any other stories? (not endings, I mean completely different story chains, races, and factions)

No, you haven't really locked yourself out of much. I think one or two Hai mission chains, but certainly nothing critical (iirc, those are not even finished yet, so...). And yes, purple wormholes can be "landed" on to use them. Try the one in the north first.

Alright, yeah you've finished the Free Worlds story. There is a sorta-related alien campaign followup. Go get acquainted with the Hai via the wormhole in Ultima Thule, enjoy what they are about, then use your jump drive to visit a system with no hyperlane link either from the northwest end of Hai space, or from the far northwest pirate systems. That'll start you on a fresh new campaign. Doesn't sound like you've locked yourself out of anything, no need to start a new save.

Enjoy exploring! There is a LOT more out there in many directions, some with stories, some just Weird Space Things.

i got mission on earth called Warship testing 2 for Lionheart industries, never did a part one, showed up on Valhalla talked to the lady she sent of to a system and the quest removed itself from my log and there was no ship to fight, did what ever mission that was break?
I never did a part one. I've had 3-4 bugged quests just pickup mid chain and then delete themselves

Not sure. I don't have every mission memorized, but that doesn't sound like anything major-questy.

Bug Report Time!
Unless you used some mod/external tool/save editing.
Also I've been traveling around with a fleet for the last 40 hours, is that normal? I mean I get 1 of the story items a piece normally, is the story expecting me to be solo most of the time, I was never solo since I was a starter shuttle

  • Bounty-Fix (makes militias attack pirates on sight)
  • Custom Outfitting [sells items that convert spare space into another space value, Engine > Outfit > Weapon etc..)
  • mission.helper (because i HATED bricking my game twice)
  • Shields Up (very common content mod from what i understand)
  • too.many.asteroids. (removes non-minable asteroids from most systems)

Balance of the "main campaign" missions is one of the points noted in some more recent patch notes. Or a (discord) discussion. Don't immediately know where, but I know I have seen the point in a dev post.

If using mods, report the bug to the mod author. Especially in this game, mods can change a lot, and the devs of the "vanilla" game are not responsible for bugs created by (possibly badly coded) mods.

Also, a troubleshooting step that is unfortunately not that practical in this game: "try recreating the bug without mods".
Unfortunate, because the save file is king. You can edit your save file to create custom ships, because it stores all the stats of all player owned ships.

In other words: editing your player owned ships in the save file has no effect on the base game's version of that ship.
Use this power responsibly.
