(Free Worlds Mission) Negotiate With Pirate Worlds

I got the mission from Tomek to negotiate with the pirate worlds. As I'm leaving he says something to the effect of 'if you get attacked, go pwn the pirate world of bloodwhatever in antares'. I tried to negotiate with Man system per the senate's wishes, but got attacked immediately upon entering the system. My mission instructions changed to 'attack antares system'. I did, and returned to Longjump to find Tomek was arrested. I've been suspended without pay by the senate, will they ever recall me or should I load an old save and start the free worlds campaign over?

I have the same problem and have no clue what I should do

Spoiler!!! if you turned him down and said something along the lines of "the senate hasnt authorized that or whatever" he says he thought you were different and leaves, he still gets arrested because he personally attacks the pirates and you get no penalty and this leads to you getting promoted again later down the road

The thing is they tell you to go to bourne yet once you get there nothing happens
