Lost mission, unsure how to restart.

So, very early on in the game I got to this mission where I'm supposed to disable a surveillance drone for the free worlds My ship at the time was slow, and had didn't really have any weapons. I couldn't catch the thing so figured I'd come back to it later when i got a ship that might actually be able to catch the thing.
The mission failed somewhere along the way, my best guess is it failed when the ship that I was using when I started the mission (now an escort), died. Now, when i go back to the world, Zeta Aquilae, where I started it the mission the first time, its no longer offered and i can't figure out how to get it back.
I tried going into the save, and deleting the line i believe is the mission i was on, but it still didn't offer it again. (the line was "FW Recon 2: offered") Any suggestions on how to get the mission back and continue the campaign?

if u mean drone hunt, try to look at the "FW Katya" lines and delete the last one there

I forgot to save before that and now what do I do? I wanted to do the mission, but my escort ship was destroyed and now I can't redo the mission

With any mission if you can find it in your save file, delete it, you can try again.
