With pirate hunting, it's a lot of hit and miss and scraping up whatever loose cash you can get your hands on. Even if you get several million, you can be making that much every minute with a cargo haulers.
Scrap coiuld be valuble in areas where theres practically no pirate activity, and most if not all usable salvaged equipment could be a [damaged] variant of that system, with wierd nerfed stats and a horrible market value
