Or you mean how jump in other systems?
To access another system, you can't just fly there with normal engines; It's too far: You need to use a hyperdrive. To use the hyperdrive, come to a complete stop, point yourself in the direction of the system you want to jump to, and press the (J)ump key.
Or, you can open the (M)ap, select a connected system with the mouse, go back to the combat window, and press the (J)ump key, and the autopilot will handle the stopping and orientation before executing the hyperjump. the autopilot can even string together multiple jumps if you select a system in the (M)ap that is further than one jump away.
