Better having workshop. Saw some peeps "posting" their mods, but with no downloadlink whatsoever.
A good mod to get is also is Shields Up. Both are three or four pages into disccusions. Addtionally, Automation and a Planet Side Storage Facility is useful.
Does it reduce the crew needed for ships?
It does but you must make sure there is at least 1 crew requirement or the ship will glitch out of ship yard list and will be immobile when you leave the planet. Author can't find away to put any safe guards on that so you'll have to be mindful. It has you buy a computer system (which determines how many matrices you can have, matrices are the component that actually reduces crew requirement (which takes no outffit space though the computers do), if the number of matrices you can support exceeds your crew requirement you can just max buy the matrices (you won't be able to exceed crew requirement, e.g. if the ship has a req of 74 you can only buy up to 74 regardless of the limit allowed by the computer you have. But max and sell one. Be warned though they are expensive as heck. The Matrices alone are 750k ea. The computers cost in the millions usually, though I think the one with lowest matrice max is under a Mil (can only have up to 3 with it as I recall). The mod also allows for planet storage for outtfits via a ship (which your always suppose to keep parked). I'd keep to space yard planets for keeping it. So you can equip the outffits you want to store on it. can have 50 turrets, 50 guns, 50 engines (or more maybe), and I think has a outfitt space of 1 Million.
On the other side, I do hate running costs.
