how to use fighters?
ive managed to capture a carrier, but pressing space does nothing.

I tried buying fighters, but they fly on their own, idk how to assign them to the carrier.

how do fighters work?

It is important to note that fighters and drones have different types of hanger slots, so if you buy 8 fighters, but have 6 fighter bays and 6 drone bays, two of the fighters won't be able to dock.

Also, you can find and change the shortcut for deploying them in your preferences.

Additional thought; while you are on a planet, press "i" to go to your ship list. Click-drag the fighters you want directly under the carrier. Maybe that will help? Otherwise, I'm not sure.

You probably know this already, but pressing "D" will deploy or recall fighters. Check out other commands in the Preferences window. Also, I think you can only control fighters for your flagship.

hey. for me the default key is space bar to deploy/recall fighters. I did buy 4 fighters as I have 4 fighter bays with the republic carrier.

ill try dragging them under the carrier in the ship list. that I have not tried yet

Please let me know if it works. In the past I've always parked/unparked everything together so I've never had issues (as I didn't care where they docked, as long as they docked and came along on one carrier or another). So, I'm very curious to see what makes things work for you.

ok I guess I got confused or something, it works now with no extra steps.

I just tried again, bought 8 fighters (for 2 carriers) and it works.

though it doesnt matter which ship they are under in the ship list, they seem to take any available fighter bay.

EDIT: actually theres one difference: when it seemed to fail, one of the carriers was the players ship upon buying the fighters, the second time it wasnt. maybe that makes a difference?

but then again maybe I got confused

It could have been confusion or a momentary glitch, either way as long as it works now!

Now the challenge is to figure out how to get them to dock on specific carriers haha
