[SPOILERS] Endless Sky Theories
Post and discuss theories for Endless Sky.
As always, this thread is probably spoiler heavy, so be careful. :KSmiley:

Hello the quote fairy is here again

Finally the band announces that their last song will be "Sad Archie." You've never heard of it, but the fans scream in approval. It's a slow, ballad-like song about a man named Archie who lives forever and is sad because the friends he makes all grow old and die. Archie has a pet dragon, and he builds a beautiful house for the dragon, but the dragon dies young. Archie is so sad seeing the dragon's house empty and gathering dust that he rents it out to some friends, but they fight with each other and trash the place. The story makes no sense, but some of the fans are wiping away tears as the song ends.

Pretty obvious that it's about the Sheragi. They died out in when they first became space - faring, and the Archons don't want to leave that space unihnhabited, so they give it to humans, who then ruin it by fighting each other. I can't find a specific war that might be being refering to, but the rim was populated by 2520 on the timeline, so it may be the turf or alpha wars.

Also could be that multiple species live in former Sheragi terriotory. Sheragi are just one dragon in the song, but there are multiple friends. However, there's definetly has not been a large war between humans and any other species (unless you count alphas). I think it's more likely that it's refering to human civil wars.

Seems unlikely though. Compared to what has happened in Korath space, The Ember Wastes, and whatever went on to the north of the Hai, Humans have done very little that would be considered destructive on the galatic scale. Proceeding to nuke the entirety of our species from existence across almost 100 world's was pretty damn close though.

Ki War Ek...

That name seems out of place for the region it is in...

Thought: the jump drive is strictly a Pug outfit, and the Pug just used their spacetime magic stuffs to make it appear inexplicably in nature, allowing the more clever races to develop it (or for the Drak to give it to them, whichever happens first).

Thought: The Pug are utterly and entirely corrupt manipulators of species.

Alternative Thought: The pug are an engineered species. The same species that made them also made the Drak(not the Archons, the Drak themselves). The Drak were created as Sentinels for the Milky Way, and similar species exist for other galaxies. The Pug, as a species, are the hands of the Uberspecies in managing everything. Different task-forces of Pug, with different communal memories, are assigned to different regions.

Thought: Drak are actually just a race of very smart beagles
You know, we have a HyperDrive but people are saying Jump Drive are Impossible to make but really, Just really its Impossible but like is there are Lost or Forgoten or hidden or maybe living within the Universe we live who has the BluePrint about the Jump Drive and maybe there is like a whole storage of Jump Drive somewhere in the System. Really Guy's we might have a chance to make or build one or even Create teh Jump Drive cause nothing is Imposible to do Because it's always possible. So anyone's thoughts about the possibility about Building the Jump Drive from or with the Jump Drive BluePrint.

Also I'm saying from within the Endless Sky

The Quarg can create jump drives. The Pug can create jump drives. The Korath can create jump drives.

Then why we "The Humans" Can't, The Description said so.

Because we still barely understand how the f a hyperdrive works.

Let alone make a large enough team to work on reverse engineering a jump drive.

The Pug are the engineers of all galactic strife, and they interfered with our civil war to engender yet more for the sake of the Wanderers

Consider the chain of events: They interfered with our civil war. We got a jump drive from the Korath and came to investigate. We got more jump drives and the Pug dissappear. We explore and find the Wanderers. We teach the Wanderers war to combat the Hai. The Pug open the Eye so that the Wanderers may make war on the Mereti/Sestor. An Alpha driven Sestor war fleet escapes through the eye and devastates Wanderer space. Said fleet escapes into Human space. We retaliate by ripping one of our own worlds in half, then we give the Exiles an unlimited new fleet.

We've become just like the early Korath. I'm wondering where the Korath got their jump drives? For that matter, where did the Alphas? What happened to devolve the Korath Empire? What new region of space, full of dead worlds will the Wanderers inherit in ten thousand years? I think these answers are obvious.

Ooo... I must be missing some story. I will have to work on that.

Willing to bet the alphas werent counted on by the pug though... their specific intent seems to have been teach the wanderers how to fight again, set them loose on the kor automa, and clean up kor space.

Alphas may be humanity's worst contribution to the galaxy ever. What if the Drak are protecting Alphas similar to the way they have Archons guarding the Kor nano-swarms?

Also, they did stop Humans from nuking themselves into oblivion...

But then there is always that nagging question of how much truth is there to what the unfettered say happened to the Hai in the distant past... What if... what if... the Pug ARE the Drak, and just play both sides of the same coin as a guise?

Well, the Wanderers had a reason to learn how to fight specifically because the Alphas were giving the Hai jumps. The Pug's usage of the Alphas to achieve this end ultimately led to the Alphas' destruction, and Humanity's fall from grace in one fell swoop.

If we had nuked ourselves and ended human civilization, this chain of events would never come to pass, and the Wanderers would have been totally unprepared for what lay on the other side of the Eye...

And that point asks another question, for how many 'generations' has this cycle of destruction and rebirth gone on? Were the Quarg telling the truth about the "First Born" race being extinct?

Are the Remnant the heirs to what's left of the fractured Human space?
You know, in 20k+ years after the Wanderers are done fixing it?
