Endless Sky Mod Site Collaboration.
After discussing the options with MZ on Github (see issue below) a decision has been made. Legolas's github repository - with collaboration from myself and tak - will end up being the mod repository.

Old post:

I posted this issue[github.com] on github basically covering everything.

The long and short of it is that I can host a website for this game.

As in I am currently talking to a friend of mine who happens to be a webhost, and we discussed some of my other projects as well as this one. He's willing to cut me a deal on hosting a permanent website that allows private uploads/downloads for mods, has a unified forum, as well as being a fully functional "exactly what you would expect out of a professional game's website" website.

I will be working with Legolas, Takarada, as well as possibly other bros on getting it up to snuff, as well as my webhost friend who is a professional in this field.

I'm not really looking for feedback, or anything, but it would be welcome. I'm only really posting this thread here because this is the closest thing I can do to a "news" announcement. If this is approved by MZ and this goes well, I will edit this OP and its name to reflect the changes.

A mod archive?
I could create an archive/website that would work as a repo for mods. However, people wouldn't be able to add submission themselves.
However, it would still be like a mod site and archive.
Submissions would be emailed to me.

How would everyone like that?

I would rather you allow self uploads so that modders can update their content. I was considering doing something similar using invisionfree as a temporary repo

Or is it your opinion?

Its a good idea. Make it able to scale, fit to screen, and mobile friendly and i will put it in my some of my game launcher designs.

But as stated. You could have people sign in, trusted modders could update and upload their own mods.

I was gonna host it on a GitHub site because it's free, so no accounts.

I was going to host my version on invisionfree, which is also free.

We could also, ya know, make a real website for it.

so this would basically be the mods website that mz has in the roadmap

Probably.

What makes this different is that only the approved persons can add mods.
