Good, fast boarding ships better than the Scout?
I've figured out my playstyle; sit on my ass and let my fleet take care of everything, then quickly board whatever we knock before any of our "allies" make it explode.

So far, the Scout is my favorite ship. I rocket over to a downed bad guy, board them, and almost immediately profit off of their corpse. Sadly larger ships aren't so easy to take down, and on top of that, the armor and shielding is poor (especially since I got rid of the shield generator to make room for better engines and whatever else I bought).

What's as fast as, if not faster than, the scout?

What carries the same or better Engine playload and Outfitting size when compared to the Scout?

Price is non-issue. My credit is kosher.

If you like the Scout, you'll love the Autumn Leaf.

However... that doesn't unlock until you've completed the Free Worlds campaign and then what exists of the Wanderer campaign, so it's probably not an option for you.

Your best bet for now is to go to the traditional flagship option, the Bactrian. You can get it pretty fast by kitting it out with good Atomic engines.

If you've unlocked it, the Kestrel will also work well. It has a very large engine capacity. (The Kestrel is unlocked by getting your combat rating to 8, then completing a quest that appears on Tarazed)

@OP- just use the Bactrian. It's the best flagship in the game, and it can get pretty damn fast once you're throwing the best engines you can get on it.

Everyone everywhere seems to say the Bactrian is the best. Man it's so hard to be a unique, special snowflake in this game :steamsad:

This forum tends to not be kind to special snowflakes.

I like that playstyle, it's fun to watch.

So, for the price range a Scout falls in, I actually prefer the Bounder.

I usually upgrade to things like a Star Queen or Corvette after building up my fleet with all the credits that are rolling in.

Once you get to your final flagship, a Bactrian is quite hard to turn away from. I occasionally turn to other heavy warships, namely Maurader versions and the Dreadnought.

Alien ships that you get from capping like the Arfecta and others are quite nice too, but I'm not sure you're worried about sparrows being shot down when you can just cap and sell heavy alien ships at that point.

And SolarDawning is right, you will love the Autum Leaf. I'll have to try it as a flagship, I've only ever had swarms of them in my fleet with OP beam weapons...
No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea

I actually discovered the Blackbird recently, and after "upgrading" to the bounder instead of the scout, I decided to throw both of those ships away. The Blackbird gives me almost everything I need, and I have a pleasant 32 crew number now, so I'm able to keep up with personal demand while going at the speed I want to.

For all parties interested:
The Blackbird costs 3.593M Credits. It comes with 2 turret slots, no gun ports (good for watchers), 110 Engine capacity, 350 base outfit capacity, a base crew size of 28 members (5 essential) and a base top speed of 424 with around 100 turning speed. Mine is 571 speed, with 155 turn speed. The Blackbird can be found at Alheka, next to Betelgeuse, or in the field as a standard trader.

Fall leaf (too lazy for spoilers) with Radiant 4 gets 1000 speed.. Imagine that with Planetaries :P

Also, I'll probably be switching to Avian heavy warships once they come out. Looking forward :D

So far there isn't a way to get a Wanderer milatery lincense.
MessyMix Aug 16, 2016 @ 7:58am
Yeah but when the new heavies roll out there will be.
jafdy Aug 16, 2016 @ 8:37am
I wouldn't want to bet on it.
