text doc modification, right?
if your reverse thrust and engines are about equal, then 80-100 turn rate is about enough to not flip around to slow on most turns, allowing you to warp, slow, turn, repeat instead of warp, flip, slow, turn, repeat. the scram drive lets warp when moving at a decent pace, but it does weird turn&burns and still flips around too much. I haven't been able to get a scram drive to deliver a good outcome since many versions ago.
jobbing is relaxing, as is asteroid chasing, but after you get established nothing is as efficient as capturing ships to sell.
See I'm trying to grind capturing a korath worldship, and have a dredger with itsie bitsie coalition engines and its moving extremely slow.
If you really want to dig deep, you can change the code and compile the game yourself. Be warned, compiling on Windows is a righteous pain in the ass. The code you want to change is this line[github.com], the 3 at the end is the factor by which capslock speeds up. And obviously, all of this is on your own risk.
welll ♥♥♥♥. I aint gunna risk it, too inexperienced to that confidently without screwing something over.
Also its more like i need to get to close to 600 bunks, and every person counts near that point.
guess at this point its just a waitin game. Big sad. Thanks either way, I'll probably try and learn how to compile the game myself then, AFTER I've given up on this.
Fair enough, I just prefer to have my odds higher than lower.
Did they change the Dredger? I thought it was fairly easy to get to 600+ crew on one, but now I can only barely get up to 597
I don't recall the old numbers, but yes, a functional ship can't quite reach 600.
Here is my slightly more than functional take on it with a little more steering & speed. You can probably get around 30 deg/sec turn if you want to re-arrange it, like remove the ramscoop & 1 afterburner (puts you at 60 speed though).

do the fighter populations add to your attack crew? If they do, you can get over 20 more.
notes: if you have unlocked it, the remnant bellows afterburner is 7 space for > 500 speed !!!
Also I've been jumping to the three systems next to Misam, which has worldships that have jumpdrives, but with crew of over 600 min (smallest crew I saw with a jumpdrive was 624)
Faster turn is def better to have, even with lesser speed, and you still get that 597 crew.
I'd have to test out with fighter crew, but I don't think that actually adds to the crew that invades a ship.
Good luck!
