Best ship and ship outfit[Spoilers]
What the title says, i'm looking for the best ship you can get(aka no quarg or korath world ship) and the best outfit for that ship.

Also take into account how many ships would be required to form a decent fleet(aka the most OP fleet you can put togheter).

money is irrelevant, in the end game you can just sell korath reactors for 14mil a piece easily.

Obv. this will contain spoilers for anyone not finnished with the story and/or who hasn't discovered certen places.

Currently messing around with dreadnoughts and shield beetles putting human, korath and quarg technology in a Hai shield beetle trying to figure out what works best.

My Beetles have got Quarg shields and batteries, the old Korath Tek'Nels, Skylances, Planetary thrusters/steering, a medium systems core, some heat shunts and a Dark Storm, I think. They can dish out damage pretty damn quickly, and they only die to piercing.

planetary thusting? dark storm?

i feel like i've missed out on something here...

Cut the dark storm and medium core out, and just put in a large core. 360 vs 354 regen, 48 vs 24 hull regen, 576 vs 720 energy usage, 91 vs 94 outfit space. Once you can disable world ships, you should never buy a dark storm again. (Personally I think you should just never buy a dark storm, 2 much n r g)

If I can, then I go for System cores, medium or large. If not, then I go with Hai or Human shields, too much hassle to farm up new quarg tech for building a massive fleet.

LAG:

Planatary Thrusters/Steering => engines from Korath Raiders and Worldships (and some of the Kor automata, but that's another matter entirely)

Dark Storm Shield Generators => Wanderer tech; if you haven't found Wanderers yet, take a Jump Drive and click up north of the Hai; they have really good generators as well, and some impressive Light Warship chassis. Oh, and if you didn't have Skylances, their cannons/turrets are probably pretty close to the best available...

Oh. Yes. The non-spoilered stuff (okay, and Kor automata and Wanderer turrets in the spoilered stuff) is from the beta branch, not the main branch. Almost all the discussion here circles around beta stuff so much that I (we?) tend to forget that not everyone is playing with the beta releases.

Thanks for the tip of the northern wanderers, but i can't speak with them.

atm i'm selling jump drives to the unfettered, see if a wanderer storyline might occur.

Go putz around in Wanderer space more. There's a storyline that starts there which will let you speak with them. In the non-beta branch, selling drives to the unfettered will never do anything but give you cash and put you on good terms with the unfetterred.

I've already raided a couple of Quarg skylancers, shields and batteries using a mix of human and korath technology before i discovered the hai, let alone the wanderes.

it was a bit tedious doing it with dreadnoughts and a bacterian(as cargo ship) without loosing a single ship, but i managed.

it then turns out i pissed of the Quarg to the point they became orange and hostile so i gave it a break, but now they seem to be friendly again.

ATM the only thing the korath seems to be good at is heat shunt (4 680 cooling for 34 outfit space) and gathering jump drives.

What i'm looking at is

Best gun*

Best turret*

Best secondary wepon*

best Ramoscop

Best hyper/jump drive

Best cooling system

Best power system

Best steering

Best ship

Best Others

*Quarg lancers are obviously the best and using them usually means you don't have space for anything else, so if spamming turrets is better than guns but doing so would mean you have no space for guns then so be it.

Others are basicly fuel pods, mass expansions, batteries and other goodies that would fit.

assume all cargo space is used for mass expansions, i'm looking for warships.

Once i have a blueprint i can easily copy paste it to lots of other ships but finding "the best" is tough.

i'm not in the beta btw.

Non-beta:

Cannons: Ion Cannon in some cases, otherwise Sunbeams (which are Wanderer)

Turrets: Skylances (duh)

Secondary: Probably Thunderheads (Wanderer)

Ramscoop: Catalytic or whatever the Deep one is called

Jump Drives: Hyper is cheapest fuel-wise, Scram is the Scrammiest, and Jump is the Jumpiest. They all do different things.

Cooling: Either Liquid Helium or Korath Heat Shunts (I've been doing beta too long to remember, sorry)

Power: Dicey - either the Korath one (that's still called Triple Plasma in the non-beta, right?) or White Suns (Wanderer); possibly a mix of the two

Engines: Depends on what you can fit, but I wanna say I was happiest with mostly Deep atomics - but maybe a few of the Wanderer drives in certain circumstances - in non-beta

Ship: Dicey - Bactrian for a boarding flagship because it's totally imbalanced and can take on most any role w/o really making any serious sacrifices; Beetles for heavy escorts because of how durable they are; Summer Leaves (Wanderer) for light escorts because they're as tough as most tier-1 heavy warships but about as fast as fighters. I'd love to include Raiders on the list because they have the same bunks and better survivability than a Bactrian, but having twice the crew requirement, fewer weapons (on a tier-2 dedicated warship!), and hardly any cargo makes them junk even if they're tougher.

korath tech is mostly trash in non-beta save for their heat shunts which are better than helium.

all wepons are outdone by skylances and since skylancers suck energy harder than OP sucks ♥♥♥♥ having other wepons seems like a waste of energy or their damage is just visible compared to skylancers damage.

on my dednought with 4 skylancers they consume 7 200 energy/s

i have a white sun reactor that restores 1 224 energy/s and 36 700 energy in store due to nanotech battery

i would be able to fire my 4 lasers for 5,96 seconds or about 6 seconds dealing 17 891,25 damage EACH for a total of 71 565 damage

is there anything that can take 71 565 damage in the game?
LAG Jun 16, 2016 @ 10:04am
I use a bacterian as a flagship becuase it has cargo. I don't see any reason to try boarding any korath ships or wanderer ships unless they're somehow better than shield beetles.

quarg ships are epic but you can't board them so that's a no go.

Bacterian is incredibly slow compared to drednoughts though, since it lacks the tiny bit of engine space needed to fit an A 860 Atomic thruster.

seriously, is there anything in the game that has enough engine space to fit the top tier atomic thrusters?

btw the quarg hates my guts after capturing their ships is that bad?

Well, the 349 and (According to some crazy people) the 512 are some community favourites just for looks. Just saying.

It means whenever you get near the Quarg alone your flagship will probably get rekt by a Wardragon, especially with their hull boost that's coming in 0.9.2. (Or is it already here? I can't remember)

LAG is in the non-beta - but it's not even here in 0.9.1.

If you're really upset about the Quarg hating you, go kill a ton of pirates. A. TON.
