scanning a remnant ship
Every time I try to scan a remnant ship they start shooting at me! This has only happened recently - is this a problem in the latest build? Or am I doing something wrong?

read their hails,
they *do not* want to be scanned, and WILL kill you on sight.

so how do I complete the mission to "analyze remnant ships"?

you gain reputation with them by completing missions and i think theres a piece of dialogue that says: "you can scan our ships now" or something like that.
and to your original post, i think this has been in the game for a while now.

It was included on 0.9.15. Also the same version includes the quest that Remnant 'allows' you to scan their ship as well. If you play many quests for them then they will allow this eventually.

thanks - that helps a lot. Previously I had been able to scan much earlier, but that was a while back! I guess I'll just have to be patient.
