Cosmic Frontier: Override - Kickstarter to remaster EV: Override

Let me first say that I love whats been done to Endless Sky so far and it is great to see this come from the desire to make a modern Escape Velocity game.

It is also why I'm taking a chance with posting about the following:

There is an ongoing kickstarter called Cosmic Frontier: Override which aims to remaster and update Escape Velocity: Override to a new engine, with full backwards compatibility with all old EV-based files, including the classic game and Nova.

It is driven by two people, a long time fan, and the original designer for Override's scenario.

There are two weeks left on the kickstarter and roughly 40% of the way to go. So if there are any new or old EV fans here who haven't heard about it yet, please check out the following link:

The last post on the project from November mentioned decent refactors being done to the project, and having looked in the discord for it, the refactor is in the latter half of completion as of a few days ago.

So it's still actively being worked on, just a matter of how the team's free time looks (similar to us).

That's good to hear. I missed the kickstarter but I definitely want to get the game. The EV series was a big part of my later childhood

They also have a Discord server where more frequent updates are available (although, there's not been a whole lot to talk about recently, most of the work of the last year has been refactoring the engine, which is difficult to make exciting update posts about).
