Get escorts to refuel eachother?

Ive got a bunch of boxwing fighters filled with fuel tanks in an attempt to carry extra fuel for my fleet, but they dont refuel the rest of my fleet. Is there any way to order them to do this or something?

Fighters and drones can't give fuel or repair other ships.

Use your boxes for cargo. You can still use a zippy ship to play tanker

nah i just sold all of them and got a bactrian with a bunch of ramscoops and fuel tanks instead.

A utility fighter or drone to refuel/repair would be a pretty cool addition to the game. Only issue is that there's no way to release it seperately from regular fighters.

And they AI doens't support that yet.

So, if your escorts are out of fuel, they will land on a habited planet to refuel. You can just wait for them. My flagship has fuel for 8 jumps, my escorts: 3.

The problem is flying through uninhabited territory, where they cant refuel and if they run out of fuel in an area with too many enemies, i cant wait around long enough to refuel them with only my flagship.
