How do I get a City-Ship License? (Nightly)
I have started playing Endless Sky again, on the latest (as of posting) version of Nightly.

I have finally gathered enough money to purchase a Bactrian. I now see that I need a City-Ship License. My question is this: How do I get one? and do they even exist yet?

I love me a Bactrian, so if I can't get one until a later update, damn.

The quickest route in the nightly is currently as follows:

  1. Do at least 2 of 3 convoy missions (to be lowered to 1)
  2. Do 3 Mystery Cube jobs from the job board (to have its spawn rate increased)
  3. Do the Mystery Cube line of missions
  4. Complete or decline Deep Archaeology (to be removed as a requirement, as its source is outside of the Deep)
  5. Do the Project Hawking line of missions
  6. Do the Terminus Scientists mission on the planet Bounty (to have its source moved to southern Deep worlds as to be easier to find)
  7. Discover the Hai
  8. Do the Deep: Remnant line of missions
  9. After waiting a month or so, return to the Deep and do the Scientist Rescue line of missions.

And then you have your license. Unless otherwise noted, all missions offer within the Deep.

You can get one, you first need to do some mistery cube jobs.

Does the apply for the Steam version too? I don't mind but good to know...
And BTW HOW MANY mystery cubes?

No, it doesn't. This is made really obvious by the way that the Bactrian doesn't require a license in the steam version.

There's a whole series of missions to do. Hang out around the Deep, do mystery cube jobs, escort missions, various spaceport things. Go to different planets, too. After a while you'll get more involved mission strings that are spoilery, so keep at it.

Thanks... I'm using the Animated ships plugin and it needs the license to release the Bactrian... No prob.. I'll just edit it out...

IT IS NOT spoilery to know what is required to get something. One can only do so much out of intuition... besides knowing the "prize" will tempt people to go on missions easier than not knowing... Perfect example is the Sad Archie Mission than unlocks Rim Archaeology... there is not a single hint about it anywhere...

WOW!!! You people are really determined to "bury" the Bactrian alive!!! Waiting to see these things in Steam... for the moment editing the License out will suffice...

Thanks! I wasn't sure which storylines there were to choose from now. I remember that at one point there was only the Free Worlds...

The Free Worlds are still the only major storyline but there are several minor lines in the game.

Betelgeusian are you sure to have the last version of the animated ships mod? It should be fixed

Probably not... but it's not a big thing to do... so no worries...

The Deep storyline is a mini-story outside the main campaign, so they're not mutually exclusive. Same with the Remnant campaign.

This mission thread is not particularly well thought out. I'd elaborate but no spoilers. STUPID
