Cheats, anyone using them/Making them?
After another discussion popped up, I thought I'd ask this of our little community. Like any game, I'm sure there are those who enjoy messing around with the rule book of the game, and house ruling in some things. Like a +10000 sword of whoop-butt or the like. So I'm curious, anyone here doing anything like that?

For myself, I've got a New Game + thing going on, wherein I keep my Salary and Tribute between playthrus, at a bit over 2 million a day at this point(Took 11 playthrus to make it that high), as well as some merchant mods, mostly to give me access to all the ships in the game that can be bought without licenses. Including Drak Archons and much more importantly, the Quarg ships.

There are a number of cheat mods of various degrees. My republic alternate-start would be on the lower end of the spectrum, where as World Forge and the All Content plugins would be on the higher end.

For me, more challenge is better. My house rules are self imposed and not brought about by way of a mod, although I am considering making a hardmode mod where literally every shipyard except basic requires you to complete a set of challenges before being licensed to fly.

If you're looking for a supership to ♥♥♥♥ around with in game, look for the Super Kestrel mod. Myself, I try not to touch such things. I prefer a more casual game, but not super easy mode. No cheats here, but there are plenty of people who use World Forge and All-Content for nefarious purposes such as these.

In Endless Sky, the simplest form of cheating (imo) is save file editing.

Buy a shuttle, and edit it for 4 million shields, 1 million hull, and 6000 shield and hull regen, and an antimatter cannon, and about 14400 energy regen, and 6000 energy capacity...

Miniature archons.

I have an intense urge to make fighters out of these things.

Ooh, that's a neat idea. Not my thing, as it seems like something like that literally can't die, but still, neat.

I find the best way to cheat is to grow your starting capital buy playing the commodities market, slowly amassing a large fleet by trading in legal goods. Then pay a respectful visit to your alien neighbors and purchase a large fleet of legal, licenced warships for a fair price. Then murder everyone.

This makes me wish that, if you had poor enough relationships with every single faction in the game, the Drak would step in as the galactic police force and actively hunt you down until they catch and imprison you.

Player, rotting in cell: "I don't know how this happened to me. I thought I was doing so well."

Drak guard: "You were, until you murdered everyone."

Actually i think it would be possible to do something along those lines pretty easy, minus the imprisonment part.

Mini game: space battle: you get imprisoned and have to defeat a bunch of other inmates in combat. You get to choose from a list of ships and outfits.
Not possible and unlikely but would be kind of cool.

Put the Die part at the end of the coversation and say that the player has been inprisoned for a Drak lifetime.

And exactly how long is the lifespan of potentially extra-dimensional beings?[github.com]

I feel like the Quarg don't know of the true power of the Archon's if this is the case...
