You mean like a code editor? Ill put it in the planned features then.
No, what I mean is when you are editing, you can see where the hardpoints are and move them around. You can see how much space you have as you add or remove outfits.
Currently, one of the most time consuming parts is having to constantly start the game up, sell and buy your ship, swap outfits, etc., just to check if everything lines up and see if your ship is moving right, all the fighters or drones are in the right place, making sure your ship has enough power and isn't over heating, etc.
You can mess around with all the hardpoints and attributes and outfits and such in there, and then paste all of that into your plugin once you are satisfied.

That doesn't show all the hardpoints while you're editing. Plus it doesn't show all the information that you can find in the left hand panel in the shipyard or outfitter in game.
It's an idea I can get behind, and I'm sure Legolas would give you permission to use his stuff. I'm also sure Wrzlprnft would be down to collab.
We kinda need to add the endless sky map editor to that too I'm sure. We could prolly do that, and keep it all in html format.
Actually Wrzls ship builder kinda does that.
