Obtaining Quarg Equipment?
How the deuce do I get their stuff now? In previous verious, I could just trick a quarg into following my off-map then disable them with plasma and loot them. Could raid a few ships before they became permanently aggressive, which could be farmed off with pirates...
Now, I just ATTACK one, and it's just F U from every edge of the galaxy. How do I obtain their equipment?!? Letting Korathbots disable them is no good, I'd just revive 'em unless I shot first, which would lead back to the same issue...

Correct, that's the point- you can't steal Quarg tech -AND- be on friendly terms with them.

The Quarg will never allow a 'lesser' species to keep their technology. There is no way to get back into their good graces once you anger them.

So it's essentially ritual suicide to disable even a single ship. Darn.

Its not suicide to obtain at all. Just realize that they arent happy with you. Once you get a few looted ones under your belt and used there tech to supe up a few of whatever ship your using. You know what i call the ones that randomly pop up. A piece of candy. More quarq equip yay.

My post is about to contain spoilers that are related to another part of a story in the game. Read at your own risk, you have beem warned.

If you are going to farm quarg, i HIGHLY recommend waiting until after you complete a mission in the Wanderer campaign where you take 3 quarg ships to defend the wanderers. You must be on good terms with the quarg to complete this mission (or willing to edit your save, which is what i do hehe).

If you are intent on farming quarg, i recommend atleast 5-10 (the more the better) Shield Beetles, outfitted with Korath shield disrupters and korath slicers. It is am effective way of quickly disabling the Quarg ship so you do not have to worry about shields as much.

How did you forget about [spoiler] tags...?

There is a strategy to raise your reputation with the Quarg. However, it must be done before they are already hostile, and before the Kor Mereti are pacified. (It may or may not work on the Kor Sestor, but they are so far up north that I find it unlikely to work.)
Go to Korath space (the sector dominated by the automata). Wait for Quarg ships to appear. When they do, jump into a system filled with Kor Mereti ships. Assuming the Quarg are disabled, quickly repair them. Repeat for infinite reputations.

Thanks, I've been doing a fair amount in their sector, will have to check that out.

As far as I can see only Quarg counter measures can be obtained without pissing them off (its the reason why Korath raiders are a pain to capture hint hint). Otherwise, prepare for war with all Quarg for the real stuff

True as this is, they really serve no purpose as they are only good for defense. But i guess it is nice to see 3000 on your flagship. Korath really hate me right now

People get disabled by Korath? Heat damage turns them into f***ing rabbits.
Reaperrazor Aug 14, 2017 @ 4:54pm
I think you misinterpreted that.

Disabling != capturing.
