Navy officer interrogation?
I have played the entier F.W. campaign and a good deal more. I recently started a new game for fun, and after doing some reconaissance for the free worlds a republic officer approached me in a space ports and asked me questions about the missions and the F.W. It ended with something like: "thanks for the information, im just as interested in what you refused to tell me, i won't detain you any longer" Is this a new thing? Also, is it part of a larger thread or just a one-time-thing? Any information would be helpful because I haven't had any encounters on the Republic side outside of the main storyline.

It's been there since the beginning, I think.

It doesn't affect the storyline at all.

It only appears if you do missions for the Free Worlds and then land somewhere in Republic space and go to the spaceport.

It pops up when 1) you finished the Pact missions, 2) the Pact planets become the FW, and 3) land in a core Republic (Deep, Paradise World) and visit the spaceport.

At the moment it doesn't affect anything, but who knows what the Republic storyline people are doing with it.

It's when you do Pact Recon as oposed to FW Recon, they are diffrent mission strings and Pact Recon is only avalable before that war begins and has no baring on anything after the war begins.
