coalition OP m8 (Spoilers)
I bought 100 Saryd Sojourners, with 2 heliarch attractors and repulsors, along with 2 ion rain guns (10 of the had 20). (I only cheated for the weapons and jump drives to see how strong they are). Unlike anything i have ever witnessed, pirates were attempting spawncamps; everywhere had at least 12 pirates hanging at an area (a planet if the system has one). they die within less than 3 seconds, excluding any interceptors that luckily slip by. I fought them with the quarg, and the army's strong enough to disable it without even having their sheilds less than 50%, which is insane.
If I could get finisher torpedos anywhere, then I'd give each of them saryd sojourners a finisher pod. but since such is not the case, i havent been able to test them.

the coalition are the korath and hai combo (maybe even a few others); they have ion rain guns that DONT cost weapon capacity and slots, and they work like an energy blaster ion cannon from the hai. the heliarch repulsors and attractors are the grabstrike and banishers, except that the coalition's are a beam attack as well.

These weapons should be more popular; they're amazing at defeating enemies one at a time, and with a large number, they can sweep anything, even a small quarg fleet with no more than 5 casualties from the aftermath.

P.S. how do u proceed on the wanderer mission? I cant seem to proceed, no matter what i do. am i supposed to be friendly to the pug? I cant proceed the one after the speaking device part, all i get is a conversation and then the end. I even checked the code.

Well if you had to cheat to get the weapons that would explain why they aren't more popular. Also, add spoilers tag.

Uh
Edit: your using 100 T1.8 ships hurdedur Pirates gon die
Also, You are not meant to have Heliarch gear, of course it might have balance issues
Edit 2: Also, same deal with Quarg. Try killing an Archon and come back to me when youve tried that

you know, no matter what you do, the only way to beat the drak is to have a drak. there's no way you can even kill it with quargs.
i tried man, i tried. without buffing the health of quargs, there's no point. and the only way to get em is to make the countermeasures -60 capture defense instead of 60, because the quargs are biologically op.

you know, there should be a quarg or coalition campaign someday; heliarchs are definetely powerful, and even a ship without any weapon slots can become deadly with their inventions.
for those who think that they wont need coalition ships, taking their ion rain guns will help any ship in general, and two attractors and repulsors with a mediocre turret or 2 can make a great ship.

tldr: looting from the coalition at the price of getting more of their ships, is considerably a good idea; you cant get their very best ships, anyway. and the ONLY way to get a guarantee capture of quarg is all offensive h2h equipment whlist the intrusion countermeasures actually decreasing their capture defense, since a quarg can kill a human with a rifle, grenade(s) and chemical gases head 2 head.

P.S. how do you find more pug arfectas? and how far can one increase the combat rating? mine calls me a dread warrior (12).

That's because you literally have to spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of it with ships that can tank
without buffing the health of quargs, there's no point.
once you edit game files it all becomes moot
and the only way to get em is to make the countermeasures -60 capture defense instead of 60, because the quargs are biologically op.
Quarg are not, repeat not, meant to be capturable in Vanilla, wo/ EXTREME minmaxxing, and even then.

Being worked on, I think

Well of course, Coalition ships are near T2, and Heliarchs are T2.5, combining them will create decent warships

tldr: looting from the coalition at the price of getting more of their ships, is considerably a good idea;
If you want to ruin any chance to do Coalition story, go right ahead.
you cant get their very best ships, anyway.
Sure you can! Just edit the Coalition to like you again!
and the ONLY way to get a guarantee capture of quarg is all offensive h2h equipment whlist the intrusion countermeasures actually decreasing their capture defense,
Again, not meant to be capable
since a quarg can kill a human with a rifle, grenade(s) and chemical gases head 2 head.
A) Multiple H2H outfits are redundant, your dudes can only keep one
B) Aliens don't get any buffs, it's all in the countermeasures

P.S. how do you find more pug arfectas?
Play the bloody story
and how far can one increase the combat rating? mine calls me a dread warrior (12).
Well, it goes up to around 21

Lol I've taken the Drak down with a swarm of derechos.
larrybagina Apr 25, 2017 @ 1:10pm
I've done a Drak with shield beetles but I don't remember how many of them survived.

With my 349 fleet they all survive.

Heliarch ships have a set of three features that factor into their total effectiveness.
  1. The ships themselves are tier 2.5; that is, they have the outfit space and health of a ship on that level.
  2. The ships use tier 2.5 weapons and reactors.
  3. The ships use only tier 1.5 (Coalition) engines and regenerators, which lowers their total effectiveness by a bit.
