Hi, I am trying to run the game on Windows 10, and I keep getting this error saying it wont start up. Any tips?

first off try compatability settings, that should fix this, i dont know anything about that error but i know running older windows games on newer windows needs compatability settings to work. if that doesnt work than you could always get the dos version of the game (probably free with proof of purchase from steam) and run it in dos box. also might want to try different video settings on your video card software control panel.

How do you get the dos version?

ask boaster on his forums, or just ask him to fix your problem, he would know. if he cant fix it he has the dos version for sale but you could prove you purchased on steam and he might give you a pass, if you ask nicely :)

What Anton said got me past the (0x0000022) error, but instead the spinning circle spun and then stopped with no result.

But then in STEAM I right clicked on the game, went to properties>browse local files>English>launcher>and right clicked on the exe file and selected "run as administrator" which worked.

Again I had to first do Anton's fix and then proceed as I detailed.

Try turning on Direct Play:

1. Press [windows key]+[x] then press

to open the control panel.
2. find/ open "Programs and Features" then press the "Turn windows features on or off"... it's on the left hand side.
3. Put a tick in the direct play... look in the L's for legacy, then restart your system.

I have just installed this game and I get this error. Already installed directplay, checked it's enabled, rebooted, ran as administrator, but nothing works, always 0x0000022. Windows 11.
