Mines?
Just wondering if its worth it to research mines if so whats the one to go for? Ive generally always gone for the widowed mines, though im curious if the area mines are worth the 2000 science hit?

As the waves gets larger it does seem mines make less of a impact especially with carriers.

Unlock Area Mines. They're very VERY good. If you're keeping your AI progress low, they can even kill off waves (except for the starship) all on their own.

For best use, select a mine and press alt + Right click and choose "line place". Click once on the wormhole, click a second time on your command station, and you'll see a line between the two. Click "pack line" so that they are compact, and build it as 3 rows, 5 deep, then place it along the line near the wormhole side.

You'll still have to build some turrets for the starships, as well as mine-immune waves, but those are less threatening anyway.

Mines are cheap and usefull, to times when multiple carriers show up. Carriers just took down mines but they own body. Anything else, going down really fast by cheap cost, especially from area explosive mines with can wipe out whole low-mid hp wave. Even window mines can immobilise many ship for long time.

Area mines stacked 10 deep by 3 wide can destroy a few hundred ships on their own. They are absolutly useful. When the waves get larger every little bit helps.

With the dynamic exits from nomad changing each 10 mins or so. Exo-waves will use nomad path trust me I have seen some hilarity behavior between nomad wormholes and exo-waves.

This is why I turn nomads off lol!

I keep nomad on because I like fallen spire citires and "distance rules" doesn't apply to nomad.

If AI get any "funny idea" of travel into a fallen spire nomad fortified system. All more salvages for me!
