Conquest of Elysium 4

Conquest of Elysium 4

Installing a mod
I've seen brief descriptions of how to install mods, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it, for example I tried installing the goblin king mod (which is a zip file I believe) And copying it into my Conquest of Elysium 4 mod directory. I've tried it both extracted and unextracted, and the mod just isn't showing up in game. Am I missing a step can ya'll help me out?

Hmm, can you please post a screen capture of your mods directory? You should see a subfolder for the assets (sprites etc) and then see a .c4m file in the root of the mods directory that corresponds to that.

I renamed the goblin king folder by adding ".c4m" and It seems to appear in my mods now but enabling it doesn't seem to add the content

Having now revisited Windows (I am otherwise mostly on Linux), it seems that the built-in ZIP file handler of Windows (8.1) is in the bad habit of, per default, creating a new directory for the extracted contents of a ZIP file – which will be named according to the ZIP file, minus the .zip file name ending.

That’s no doubt the GobblinKing folder you got after extracting everything. Renaming it won’t help. Instead, what you want is to move its contents out to the mods folder itself (then just delete that useless folder).

What you should get, at the end, directly in your mods folder, is a folder with one or more TGA images in it, plus a c4m file (which is actually a plain text file).

Extract the contents of the .zip file to the mods directory. You should then have a text file called GobblinKing.c4m, and a folder called GobblinKing containing all the other files.

EDIT: Marlin obviously types faster than I do. He's right, depending on what you're using to extract files from the .zip, they may or may not end up in an unwanted new folder.
