Conquest of Elysium 4
Closing/ opening Agartha portals?
I'm currently working on a small mod, to go along with another mod I'm working on, that will allow a player with a tunnelling unit to dig down into inferno without worrying about unleashing a demon horde on the world by allowing them to close and reopen the pit portal at will. I am having trouble with this, though. My last attempt used an event to change the pit terrain to a different one whenever it was not occupied by a player; this only changed the terrain, though, and left the portal open. Does anybody know of a way to implement this, if at all possible?

Most portals (including those associated with tunneling) are permanent once created. The most relevent exception I can think of for your case is the Gateway to Inferno (normally created by an event or the Demonologist ritual Infernal Gate), which can be closed by having a commander choose the special option "Destroy Gateway" while on the tile.

Here's my suggestion: try having an event replace your Pit (terrain 104) with a Gateway to Inferno (terrain 201). You may want to use some event limiters to prevent this from affecting any Pits that were placed on the map at creation. Use Destroy Gateway when you want to close it, which will change it to a Destroyed Gateway (terrain 200). Have an event change the Destroyed Gateway to a Rock Ground (terrain 47). Then you can tunnel through it again if you want to reopen the portal.

Hope that helps! Please let me know how it works.
Awesome, thanks for the tip. I'll mess around with it and see what I can get.

All the portals in the Elemental Planes can be destroyed, notably
