Report a translation problem
The best policy on the void, normally, is not to go there to begin with.
Unfortunately I've never really encountered a gateway in the void (I don't go there in general largely due to not being fond of the High Cultist). I would presume that some bug has occurred, and that the game has generated that gateway, but nowhere for it to go, but that's pure speculation.
You should probably mention this in the bug report thread.
Do you have a save file?
As already mentioned, the best way to deal with the void is never to enter it. Outside of the high-cultist, no one has insanity immunity. The only classes that can even purge insanity are necromancers and vampires. However, even liches are in danger of going permanently crazy before findidng an exit- as you noticed, the map doesn't stay revealed and you enter from a random part every time.
