Summon Demon Lord Broken?
Hello, I am currently playing as demonologist and each time I try to summon a demon lord, it end up never being under my control and it attack me and my army. I use a Geotic Master and the maximum of sacrifice humanely possible.
It cost 500 sacrifice to summon one, I use 750 to augment the chances of controlling it... but out of 8 attempt, I only manage to control one of them, and it wasn't even a demon lord, but a lord of Hades... what are the % of chances of successful control for a ritual and how to augment it?

It's not broken, you're just unlucky. Even at maximum sacrifices, the odds of successfully controlling a Demon Lord is less than 50%.

Amusingly enough, the one Demon Lord you acquired is the one with the lowest odds of being controlled. Back when I was playtesting the beta, acquiring the Lord of Hades was infuriatingly difficult even when I cheated and savescummed.

That's the downside of the nearly unrivalled power the Demon Lords possess, and the relative ease of accessing them.

I posted the ritual data in this thread. It includes explanations of how summoning control chances are determined and what they are for each ritual.

For Summon Demon Lord, specifically, here's what you can get and how likely you are to control it at 500 and 750 sacrifices:

Monster | 500 | 750 -------------------------------- Demon Lord | 25% | 37.5% Arch Devil | 25% | 37.5% Duke of Hell | 20% | 30% Prince of Death | 15% | 22.5% Goat Sun | 25% | 37.5% Lord of Corruption | 30% | 45% Monster of Fraud | 25% | 37.5%

So yes, you got unlucky, but this is never a reliably successful ritual. Even under the best of circumstances, the summoned being is more likely to attack you than to join you.

I did save-scummed to get one of the demon lord. Not really proud of it, but I did.

Not a particularly useful ritual due to the low success rate.

Just show me a demonologist player who don't save-scum! :)

Right here. ;) I find that much more interesting stories are created by overcoming bad situations rather than avoiding them.
