My Illusionists have charmed the Baron twice, ever :p
+ Enchanter's Necrotods (from L2 Create Necrotod)
They nearly auto-capture stupids like animals and Forest Shepherds.
Every 100 fights or so, you find that you captured a Dwarf Commander or similar.
+ Will o' the Wisp, Sylph/Undine, etc.
Beware losing your own commander to these. Never bring a melee Captain or Hero leader, always use a spellcaster who hangs back and never lauches a physical attack.
+ War, the Rider of the Apocalypse
His special ability is to mass-charm all hoomans on the battlefield, every freaking round.
You're better off just emptying out every citadel in his path, and re-flagging them later.
(Of course, you'll never charm him in the first place, so he's no answer to your riddle.)
+ Witch might have some high summons with Charm attacks ... like Wisps.
Surely there are about a dozen others, or more. Good luck stealing somebody useful :)
I will note that enslavement "breaks' commanders. They lose their ability to cast any rituals or lead armies on their own, but if they were a spell caster they'll do their job in combat.
And you can wind up with all sorts of fun hybrid classes this way... do keep in mind special recruitment options are largely tied to hte faction and not the commander. I found this out hte hardway when I save scummed to charm a Dwarf Queen once. She spawned workers, I was collecting gems, she could hatch a rune smith: couldn't upgrade workers into warriors, though. So it was all wasted effort : /
However one of my fondest playthroughs was as the Voice of El. You almost always stat with a conversion spell that charms humanoids. First player I meet is the druid, and I successfully charm the apprentice on my first battle. For the rest of hte game, I was the Druid of El summoning forth the Righteous Beasts. I couldn't get any more druids, but I could promote and eventually picked up a late-game summon that had the full spread of druid rituals available.
For most classes, nabbing the baron is amazing. Villages don't normally give any special resources, but the upgraded motte-and-bailey will. So as El, a sacrifice faction, hands of glory faction, etc... you can use the baron/high lord to permanently upgrade your special resource income with gold. As well as your direct gold income, as well.
Otherwise... High Priestess gets their own version of hte Succubus.
Already mentioned Voice of El.
The Witch can summon Will o' the Wisps.
Cultist has tons of confusion abilities.
The Dwarf Queen has confusion magic as well. I know the queen has it, so probably the Rune Smiths as well.
Illusionist also covered already.
Honestly haven't played the slave lord/Aztec guys much... wouldn't surprise me if they had a summon that could at least confuse.
Oh and necromancer gets a Tartarian spirit that enslaves on hit. Not so good for commanders, but he's a commander himself that can build up a ball of slaves. Useful for throwing at powerful monsters to "recruit"
Pretty sure hte Bakemono sorc can also enslave.
That's all I can think of right now.
