I also played on my Windows 11 Onexplayer 5800u and its completely perfect hopefully Proton will fix these artifacts soon but the game is still a lot of fun as they only appear for a second.
Not required but you can also turn the Texture Filtering to - ANISOTROPIC. Everything else maxed out.
This will get rid of the artifacts and without the fuzzy AA effect the game looks a bit more old-school but I actually prefer it like this on an handheld.
Looks like some people are having good luck with changing the proton version. Maybe that's part of your issue. (I havent' tested it yet)
