Mission 5 (Royal Conservatory) Super Hidden Room
It irks me when the map shows rooms that just isn't there. In mission 2 the bottom floor of the Overseer's office had a room that existed, but was just inaccessible.
Here on mission 5, according to the map there's a room behind the alcove with the crossed out Jessamine painting, and I've been attcking it from every angle, even with whale oil and grenades, but it seems that the only door in there has a visblock blocking visibility to the room.
I can't possess rats or have any powers, so I don't even know if there's a mechanism to open some secret door. Frustrating.

If that's the room i'm thinking of, you can get in there through a skylight on the room's roof. There is a room in the Conservatory where that's the only way you can get in anyway.

Several screenshots are available?

If it's the room with the giant one-winged owl, then that room is for speed-clearing the level: You enter via an open window on the bottom, and then climb all the way to the skylight and exit via it, to end up on the roof, and from there you can enter the final room.
The room that I am talking about, is next to the second story of the owl room, where its balcony is blocked by a black shutter, and so my room has no skylight.

If there are screenshots available for this room, then show me. I can't go typing in "Dishonored 2 level screenshots" without risking being spoiled for future missions.

It's possible that New Game + will change the layout of the levels, and that this room is only accessible then.

I can tell you for sure that the level layout doesn't change for NG+. There are just unreachable parts/things in some of the levels, like the whalebone behind the cabinet in Addermire (first floor, right wing) that can be seen with Dark Vision that has no way to be retrieved. I'm assuming these are either plans that were scrapped and no one bothered removing the code or were items with placement issues that no one caught and aren't game-breaking.

You're talking about the crossed out painting of Jessamine right next to the front door of Ashworth's office, yes? As far as I know, there isn't a way in; I've never found one in any of my playthroughs. I'd imagine it shows on the map because it is part of the building, even if it isn't accessible to the player.

I'd love to be proven wrong, though. It would be hilarious if it was something simple that I just kept overlooking.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's just that it's so confusing, especially since I feel entitled to a reward for discovering that the room exists in the first place, since it's far from obvious.

Totally understandable. I try for that damn piece of whalebone every time, even though I know I can't reach it. As a DH2 completionist it really irks me. ~lol~
