[CONFIRMED: YES] Is full game optimization better than the demo?
I just downloaded the demo yesterday but the frame rate has been terribly inconsistent and there appears to be some latency between my movement input and the game's movement. Overall my fps feels more like its bouncing above and below 30

I have the same exact rig as this guy in his benchmark video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrauEUijo9g
and I'm running the same settings as he is (all Ultra)
The Demo is just not working for me. If anyone can vouch for the game by saying its different than the demo I'm more inclined to buy.

GTX 970M... Ultra settings.

Don't even bother.

I have RX 470, i5-6600, 8 GB DDR4 RAM and I can run this at High/Very high settings at 1080p 50+ fps. Ultra brings framerate down to 45 fps.

The guy in the link I posted did. His frame rate is in the 40s-50s

Just run at high-mid if you want a almost solid 60. The differences are barely noticable in game.
So how did the benchmark video get a decent frame rate if he has my specs?

Missing the real question here, is the full game optimized differently than the demo is?

From what I understand, the demo is the the same as the full game, since the intent is to let you know if you can play the game. If you are having problems with the demo, you most likely have problems with the full game.

wondering the same.

at high / very high settings my fps shows a mostly consistent 40-60 fps in the most demanding environments but it feels more like the fps is in the 20's. it feels sluggish.
the first game ran flawless and smooth as can be on my ancient rig I had back then.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the demo, after all the horror-stories about Dishonored 2´s PC-port; especially because at the moment I´m only having 8 GB of 1600 DDR 3-Ram installed. But then again, I haven´t encountered any problems running any game with only 8 gigs; granted I´m still "only" using a 1080p/60Hz-Monitor. The rest of my sytem consists of a stock I5 4670k, and a Gigabyte G1 GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming.

With this system the 3 Missions of the Demo ran at an almost locked 60 fps, no matter if in- or outdoors; at 1080p and Ultra-Settings; no resolution scaling either. And it felt like 60 fps; no bad frame-times/ framepacing issues. The only hitches, meaning frame-drops to around 55 fps, happen when the game autosaves. But I guess this stems from the fact that I have the Demo installed on a conventional HDD, not an SSD. But this isn´t too distracting, as it´s only happening for a fraction of a second.

Nothing near as a smooth as lets say cryengine or unreal engine. If you play on 60 FPS its OK though, anything higher will look blurry.

There are also a few spots IG where framerate drops badly, nothing really unplayable but you notice.

it runs like a s s but I did notice that the full game seems to run a little better than the demo in the same areas for some reason

The full game has been updated to the June patch.

The june patch wants you to cap the FPS at 60, and lower your settings like they give you the opportunity to do, from the menu screen. Don't bother running at Ultra, because that card *can't do it*. I mean, it says so straight up. It NEEDS 6g vram for all the bells and whistles. If you don't HAVE that, you can't RUN it that way.

That's all I needed to know, I'll probably get the game on a sale then

I have everything maxed out, and it dips every now and then to low/mid 50's in wide open areas. Playing in borderless window helped out a bit. For as good as the game looks, and as expansive as the environments are, I'd say it's normal. Deus Ex MD doesn't have as wide open environments as Dishonored 2, and I feel as if it runs worse.

The problem with this "benchmark" is that the first area in which he is playing around is very small. The actual performance issues are in the wide open areas of Karnaka, in the later levels (and you can get a glimpse of it when you get to street level in Dunwall in that first level, but it's not really the same load as the Karnaka missions). That first level is not representative of performance in the rest of the game.
I think you should play around with the settings and see if playing on medium/high gives you FPS closer to 60.

Sweet alienware!! I am not sure why u are having issues. I run an alienware alpha at ultra graphics with no problem. Do u have anything else going on ur pc at the same time?
Demo tells u ♥♥♥♥ .... its the lvl that comes next u need ... . demo ran fine normal settings maybe even high ... past that lvl i crash every 5 sec in full game so cant play the game :colossus: . (ryzen5 rx570)
