So if I play no powers mode...
There WILL be places I cant reach or there is always a way? I'm playing the Institute with powers and there is a particular charm on the top of a building that I can see no way a player without powers to reach it.

You can't get everything, but some things have more interesting ways to find w/o powers than you may first assume.

This.

Although, there are places that are not possible without power unless you use bugs or something. But remember, you won't get all things with clean hands/ghost/no powers all at the same time.
This actually makes for even greater replay value. My first playthrough was just that - no powers/very hard/ghost/clean hands and had a blast (when the game worked, when it suffered FPS drops, not so much) and I know I will come back to it to play with powers.

^^

There are maybe 1 or 2 bonecharms you can't reach simply because they do require blink/far reach. But aside from those, you'll be amazed at how much effort they put into making both powers and no powers fun.

I recently finished a "no-powers, no kills, no detections, gather all collectables" playthrough. I found the same thing as you, Kain. The bone charm on top of the roof is NOT reachable without powers. There's one other bone charm, in Dunwall Tower that is impossible to get to, as well. It's the one on the second floor, in the room where the civilian is hold up because of the clockwork soldier patrolling outside the door. I've tried every which way I could imagine but to no avail.

However, those are the only two I wasn't able to get through the entire game.

It's not actually impossible to get that one in the Tower, but... it's really, really, really annoying to try, so I gave up.

Basically you have to be hella persistent on that one, and just... keep jumping and hopping and running and jumping. Not worth it imo.

Not to question your knowledge of the game Zekiran but, if you gave up, how are you so confident that it can be done? Have you seen it done in a video somewhere?

When I tried, I spent over an hour trying to reach the opening at the top of the wall in the next room. That would allow me to crawl across the beams into the blocked off room with the bone charm. Without at least Agility, I can't find anything I can hop on to that will get me high enough to jump up to the opening. I have tried sprint-jumping but was never able to get close to grabbing the ledge of the opening.

Having said that, there was a similar situation in Deus Ex:MD where a neuropozine bottle was placed in such a spot that was seemingly impossible to reach but, with a great deal of patience and persistance, I finally did get it. Perhaps, like you, I gave too soon on this bone charm. But, if I know something is indeed possible, I'll keep trying until I succeed.

So, are you really sure this bone charm can be reached? If you believe it is, I'll go back and try some more but, if you're wrong, I'm gonna shoot myself and come back to haunt you forever. :D

I have in fact seen a video of it being done, yes. Someone here posted it.
cyberwiz97 Sep 17, 2017 @ 6:22pm
Ok. That's good enough for me. I'll get back to that and give it another shot. Thanx muchly.

Yeah according to the person who did it it was HELLA annoying, so... grit your teeth and stick to it if you really want that one.

The other one was the one on top of the glass windows at the train station. I never could jump enough to get that one, but it can be done.

Ok, then. I found a video in the Community Guides. The author says he made 32 failed attempts before making the jump to the beams. I admit to as many tries but I finally caught the edge of the beam and made it into the room. Yeah, wow! That was rediculously hard to do. Jump on the chair; jump on the wall lamp; jump to the beam; all in virtually one motion! Holy Rocky Mountain oysters, that's tricky!

So, thanx Zekiran. If you hadn't commented on this, I would have gone on assuming it was impossible, and worse, I would have continued to pass on that misinformation. I've always been impressed with your knowledge of the game lore but I now have a new found respect for the validity of the gameplay information you provide, too. You da man! Uh ... I mean woman. :)

Not sure which one you mean here. What mission is it in?

Um.... where there's the 2 story building with the tram car, before and after you reach Jindosh? I think? It's an easy blink up through the windows, but without blink you have to be in exactly the right spot to jump up and grab a beam.

You can't access certain areas, but you can still get to the places you need, although it might be harded to get to. Plus if you decide to hunt runes if you refuse to take the Outsider's mark (you still have the heart), you get 200 coins per rune. You can still use Bonecharms if you refused the mark.
