Mana doesn't always recharge to maximum
I know about the powers that deplete mana past a certain point and won't recharge to the original level. Not sure why, but something like Dark Vision doesn't always return to full. Is that explained anywhere? Maybe I missed it.

Also, more importantly, I will be using Far Reach to move around a level, always (annoyingly, I might add) waiting for what seems like a long time for the mana pool to refill, and taking my time... only to have the maximum refill point drop over time and eventually get to where it won't fully recover to maximum.

I know what to watch for, so that I don't eat into the max refill point by using Far Reach too often, so that's not it.

This is just inexplicable dropping of the max recharge level for no other apparent reason.

Anyone else seeing this? I mean, it's not a huge problem. There are tons of Addermire solution vials lying about, so it's not a big deal. Just curious why it happens, or if it was ever explained somewhere that I might have missed.

You can use bone charms to refill your mana underwater and such. There are ways to get around that.

In any case I wonder how you will manage when you have to play without powers.

Do they get taken away at some point?

When you use a power your mana starts to automatically refill back to the same level it was before using that power. But if you cancel this refill by using another power during that cooldown you lose the free refill and your mana will be lowered until you manually refill it.

Basically if you are cautious you won't lose mana, but if you spam powers you will lose it, just avoid spamming powers and you should be good.

This is unrelated to spamming the powers though. I mentioned how I always wait for it to refill, and sometimes, it just doesn't. It's just weird.

You have to make a choice at the start of mission 2 if you want to carry the Outsider's mark or not. If you decline, you will not have any supernatural powers for that playthrough and have to beat the game with just your natural movement.

There is an achievement to beat the game with no powers (Flesh And Steel) so you have to do that at some point. It is a fun challenge and it makes you think especially if you want to be stealthy and finish the game with no alerts or kills.

The bar stays transparent but never reaches it? Or it simply eats a chunk instantly.
By the way you describe how waiting is "annoying" probably means sometimes you are just using it slightly too soon, but if you are sure it isn't a misfire check your bonecharms, some bonecharms remove the regenerative effects of mana while others consume mana instead of health and more.

Not sure... all I know is, I will use a power, wait for the mana to refill and it just doesn't go all the way back to full, it stops.

I'm going to try verifying game files through Steam, then reinstall, to see if those fix it. I've had another glitch come up where using the bonecharm that replenishes health when killing bloodflies or rats doesn't work. I can kill a dozen rats and wipe out whole colonies of bloodflies and the health bar never budges.
