So here is the conclusion:
The top guy on D's solution list sits far left of the table while the bottom guy sits far right of the table, Try it out.
I had the same thing, just with Baroness Finch. My riddle explicitly said, she sat to the far left (= position 5), yet the answer sheet I got for delivering one of the bosses to the other, places her in position 4. So the riddle and the working answer to it are definately contradictory.
I'd love to see your evidence for this. It's a solid logic puzzle and has only 1 answer.
My lock combo was:
Finch, Diamond
Contee, Medal
Winslow, Pendant
Marcolla, Ring
Natsiou, Snuff Box
How I figured it out was by seating Natsiou in the last position on the left. The instructions were ambiguous, they said something like" "Natsiou was seated to the far left next to the person in the red jacket", but didn't say if it was the last seat to the left or the second last seat.
This was the key to the whole puzzle because once Natsiou's seat was figured out, everyone else's seat fell into place.
If Natsiou was the last one on the left, and the next person was in red, then there could only be 2 positions left for purple: either in the first spot on the far right or the center.
Since the woman in white was to the left in the woman in green, this limited where they could be; I simply tried out variations on the purple seating of which there were only 2 possibilities.
In the instructions, Finch was the one with the diamond so she was easy to figure out too because on the door lock I just put her in the 3 possible spots she could fit (1, 2, and 4).
After that was set, I went back to the door lock and put Natsiou on the far left and Finch with the Diamond in the above spots. It took about 3 tries before the door opened.
The rest of the instructions didn't really make sense, so I think the goal is to reduce possible comibinations, not eliminate all doubt.
There is always one who presents her great thing. But then there is one who scoffs at it and says "my thing is better". That person is the first mentioned person in the text (not in the list.)
From there it's maybe 2-3 minutes to solve it.
have you completed the puzzle yourself or just watched someone else do it on youtube? or are you guessing as to the rules?
Most importantly: Ignore the first sentence which merely introduces the participants.
The solution order for the Front of the Lock from LEFT to RIGHT is:
Position - Person - Item
***************
#1 is 1-3
#2 is 3-2
#3 is 5-5
#4 is 2-4
#5 is 4-1
Ignoring the first sentence, list the people as they are named in order. Next, separately list the items as they are named in order.
Use the number sequence above for position order, person and item.
And that's all there is to it. Done.
Same for me. I spent two hours trying to figure this out, and the damn code didn't match the riddle.
WTF Arkane!
