Long Pre-Load Screen? Why?
So... I am definitely lost as to why this game has such a slow Pre-load into the games main menu. What part of the development brought this to be part of the game? I have it on my SSD and of course is seems to show not much, if at all, any time difference in the time it takes for the pre-load screen to finish whether on HDD or SSD. I really feel Arkane should have stuck with the Unreal Engine on this game, not that I have anything against id Tech 6 engine. I wonder if this does it on the consoles, the Pre-Loading screen??? Anyone??? I feel like I am back in the Playstaion 1 era of when you could start the game up and go make a sandwich and come back it would almost be done loading into the game. HAHA! Ok, it didn't take that long, but you get where I am going.

I am also having issues with frame rate, but I am looking into that at the moment and have many sources explaining some possible causes and some plausible solutions to those causes.

Thanks,

My RIG:

GTX 1070 8GB

It's not Denuvo doing it. The Nvidia shader cache system folder is capped to 256mb, at which point it's flushed.

I've tested this and my game only does this slow load when my shader cache folder is up to around 240mb or more in size. Every single time.

I even looked into ways to make the size cap larger just for Dishonored 2, but it doesn't look like it's possible, even with Nvidia Inspector.

ME: Andromeda has the same problem: it takes anywhere between five and ten minutes to build shaders on some systems. Some people have this problem; others don't. I had it off-and-on, actually. The fix was to turn off v-sync, because apparently shader building is linked to v-sync and I guess it can only compile so many shaders during a single refresh? I don't know; none of it made any sense at all. Anyway, turning off v-sync solved the problem, and I can load ME: A in about ten seconds now. Have yet to try this with D2.
