Random Crashes Discussion

For two times now, almost like clock work - every 2 hours my game crashes. Random and totally out of the blue. Thoughts? Has or is this happening to anyone else?

Tested it.
Started a stop watch the second I loaded into a save, and at 2:00:54 the game crashed straight to desktop, was like it just alf+f4 it's self lol.

Defo something not right. Now bloody gotta spend hours testing to see if it's external or a mem leak. Man pc gamers are just bloody beta testers these days.

I have the same problem from the beggining. Its like some one randomly presses alt-F4

Update: The crashes may have to do with alt+tabbing. I was able to get past the 2 hour threshold in a session where I didn't alt+tab too much.

But my game auto alt+tabs by it's self when it first loads up for reason, I think it might have to do with using RTSS.

Anyway, maybe you guys should try playing without alt+tabbing at all, and see if that reduces crashing.

Any Resolves of the Support ( all the things you can find on the website ) didn´t work so we have to wait for a patch fixing it.

By disabling the Steam overlay I was able to play for 30 minutes, but eventually it crashed.

as i see i'm not the only one with this issue, for me, it randomly crashes after like 30 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay. and there's two kind of crashes that happened to me, first it was like i pressed alt+f4 randomly during gameplay (the game shuts itself) but i think i fixed it by restoring the default settings in the visuals, and the second one, the game just freezes and the background music is still playing, in this case the only thing i can do is ctrl+alt+delete to bring the multitask window and rebbot the system since the game won't allow me to kill its task and that is what frustrating me, it just happens randomly.
i have everything up to date and i'm out of solutions.

you guys are all on everything stock clocks, and temps aren't running wild?

if you are overclocking anything, the first step is always to try stock clocks.

if you aren't overclocking, and not getting crashes in other games, then it's the game's fault.

also, turn on the OSD in afterburner so you can see what's going on around the crash time.

My System is not overclocked and i could play the first Hours on Ultra Settings. Sure a Game Bug

I have found the solve for me, Check out if the crash only appears on the same place. If yes just go another way. My crash only appears between the 2 Flashgates on the way to adermire station in Mission 2.

My game, also crashes about the 4 minute mark, also just past the first Flashgate on the way to Adermire Station...I had passed that area (by the market up the road), but went back to find a heart that is down below....now, within 4 miutes of re-starting in that area, it just goes black, and back into Steam. I reset ALL of my settings, to make sure I didnt goof something up...with same results...tried going around that area, but still drops out...Played great for a few days, even on 2700 resolution, and set at Ultra...now its all but unplayable... scratching my head.
Thanks for everybodys input...Ill keep at it, and update if I find a fix or work around...

This has happened to me at least 7 times just in the first 2 missions and it's absolutely infuriating when I lose progress constantly. It seems completely unrelated to what I do or where I am, just totally random exits to desktop.

I really love the gameplay so far, but there is no way I'm gonna keep playing like this. The fact that the beta patch doesn't fix this is worrying, I have no choice but to stop playing for now and wait for a possible fix.
