Do you think an issue may be that the computer doesnt recognize my Windows 7 as an ingenuine copy of Windows? Now, I can promise you that this Windows is 100% genuine so pelase dont think that you are talking to some pirate trying to get things for free.
Win 7 is NOT an old O.S, it is the one before Win 10 which is the last one !
Win Updates is not able anymore to find updates, even if the update research is the 1st one of the PC !
I am on Win 7
Dishonored 2 worked fine on Win 7, and Win updates too... until very recently. Microsoft knows about that problem but refuse to fix it to force people to upgrade to Win 10 (a unacceptable tyran behaviour Microsoft have today. It deserves everybody throws Microsoft and any version of its Windows to the garbage, where their place really is !)
Yes it is an old OS. MS has stopped supporting if aside from security updates IIRC. Yes it *should* work on Windows 7, and do you really expect MS to support a >7 year old OS that is 3 versions behind?
Socrates is on the right path. It would help to know what your processor and graphics card are.
I can testify to that. Initial install of W7 is a pain in the arse, but once you get it going its fine. You might have to manually download a few of the updates.
What GPU do you have? (If you're not sure, go to the Steam task bar and under Help, click on System Information. It'll be listing there.)
Yes, you're right !
I forgot Win 8 (and Win 8.1 which are the same O.S : Win 8, just like Win 98 and Win 98 SE are both Win 98 !)... But it has been such a failure for Microsoft that it released Win 10 really really quickly, right after it (without even releasing Win 9, to tell it's not a follow to Win 8. Many people consider Win 8 is just a sketch of Windows 10, not a full O.S... So it wouldn't really be 3 O.S before, but more or less just one (if we consider Win 8 as a young Win 10) or 2 if not...
Anyway : Dishonored 2 worked fine on Win 7... until... just few days ago !
u kiddin me? Sure Win7 is old also there are Win8 and 8.1 after Win7 and NOT Win10.
Windows 7 2009
Windows 8 2012
Windows 8.1 2013
Windows 10 2015
what people say about it it's not interesting.
All of them are Full Versions!
And do you think you're not part of the people who "say about it" ?
8 and 8.1 mean 8. That's the truth.
So there is 7, 8 and 10...
But I thought we were talking about Dishonored 2, weren't we ?
Do you prefer to focus on the different version of Windows ?
If you do, I think you should post on the Microsoft discussion board.
If you don't, so, let's talk about the real subject here : the bug on the start of Dishonored 2.
THAT is important.
I don't f***ing care about Windows versions.
And to help everyone and to have a constructive talk, when we meet that problem with Dishonored 2, we have to contact Bethesda's support... Here : https://help.bethesda.net/app/ask
Hey, trek554 ! Before posting, take the time to read what I've wrote after.
Thank you :
So who makes a fool of himself now, trek554 ? 'cause I don't.
