All I needed to do was shoot the turnbuckle and it loosened and smashed open the door. Maybe you need to reload the tutorial.

I think the problem is the UI is just in the way? I had trouble with this too, mostly because I couldn't see anything

godammit. Think i shot all over that damn thing 30 times :P Finally got it :D
