Report a translation problem
However, you only take runes with you, when you unlock abilities.
So invest ALL your runes at the end of the game into your characters abilities.
As if you leave runes just in your inventory they won't be taken with you into the next playthrough.
Only unlocked abilities count.
All your unlocked abilities will be locked again in the next playthrough, but the sum of the runes you invested into your abilities will be given back to you.
The maximum you'll get, are 170 (+2 runes from the altar in the Void) runes.
So you should start with 172 runes at all.

of course even with ng+ I barely touched half the powers lol.
I have no idea why it didn't work the first time for me... I can only assume that I goofed and selected the wrong save.
