New Game Plus Stacking?
Hey all,

Just a quick question - does new game plus 'stack' each time you finish the game?

I just completed a play through on new game plus which ended with me having consumed about 100 Runes (two full play throughs worth), but when I tried to do a new game plus based on that save I started with only 63 Runes.

I was expecting that I could just keep playing through the game until I had enough runes to unlock every power at the start of the game... is that possible? If so is there any trick to it?

Thanks!

Yes, they normally should stack.

However, you only take runes with you, when you unlock abilities.
So invest ALL your runes at the end of the game into your characters abilities.
As if you leave runes just in your inventory they won't be taken with you into the next playthrough.
Only unlocked abilities count.

All your unlocked abilities will be locked again in the next playthrough, but the sum of the runes you invested into your abilities will be given back to you.

The maximum you'll get, are 170 (+2 runes from the altar in the Void) runes.
So you should start with 172 runes at all.

Thanks very much mate, I'll re-create the new game plus and see if that helps.

If you are lazy, you may want to check out my savegame:

But of course, playing it yourself might be more rewarding. ;)

wait what, that... that works?! O.O

of course even with ng+ I barely touched half the powers lol.

Zekiran - can confirm that it works. Just successfully did it with Just Chill's save.

I have no idea why it didn't work the first time for me... I can only assume that I goofed and selected the wrong save.

I wonder if doing a no-powers play through ruins the overall ng+ rune count, but I guess i'll have to find that the hardway.
