Also how i remove the press F message in EVERY cutscene?
Im so annoyed by this game
Are you playing at 1024x768 or something? The F message is in the bottom left corner of the screen taking up about 3% of the total screen space at 1080p. I notice it, but didn't care. Besides, cutscenes are fairly rare if you're playing stealthy. Once every 20 minutes or so at most.
The heart messages can be turned off and I don't believe there's more than maybe once or twice in the whole game when you HAVE to use the heart for anything. You can turn off all the HUD stuff and play deeply immersive, the options are there.
What, im in the second level and this thing keep popping up like every minute
Someone already said you turn off information messages in the settings to make the game stop telling you to use it. And as the game doesn't require you to use the heart for progress very often.
Thanks for the answers. I ticked off the information message box before, but it didnt work for some reason. Now it worked.
But yeah, its just insanely stupid design because you have 4 overlapping mechanics: the heart, the marker, the glow and the notification. Its insane. All of these do the same thing.
The heart markers: which tell you exactly where everything is are of course the first thing you turn off because they're way too casual and destroy exploration.
The notification: is also completely obsolete because you literally see a glow through walls once you have the heart equipped.
The glow: also obsolete, because its practically just a second marker. Which we already turned off, because we actually like to play the game ourselves and not just play errand boy by walking off markers. And you cannot turn this off for some reason...
The heart: this is the actual interesting mechanic. Use the heart to close in on charms and runes, because it keeps beating faster the closer you get. Perfect mechanic for finding hidden stuff. Unfortunately, its made completely redundant because Arkane felt the need to implement 3 other crutches that do the exact same thing: tell you where hidden things are.
Its crazy. And Arkane keeps doing that in their games. Dishonored 1 and Prey suffered from equally braindead design decisions aimed at - god I don't even know who they're aiming it at, because I know nobody of any age who likes casualised crutches.
These decisions aren't made by any single person and they aren't made on a whim, though.
They play tested it. Designers, developers, programmers, artists--they all play tested it and I guarantee the publisher has outside resources for alpha testing as well. Somewhere along the way it became obvious to them that people need to, want to and love to have their hand held.
