CAN'T FIND CONFIG.INI FILE AND BASE FOLDER

Hello, I'm having startup crashes on the 2nd loading screen, which is not flickering of black screen, and I heard that deleting the config file can help (Alt+entering didn't do sheeeet)

I know that the config file is at C:\Users\[name]\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\dishonored2 and there is a folder called "base" and the config file is in it.

Here's something funny, I don't have one. Infact, I don't even have the base folder! I did the game cacher check, and it says that every file's good. I downloaded my game on hdd while the sdd is my basic operating hard drive. Every single game excluding this is working great.

Any ideas why and where can I find my base folder and the config.ini file?

It could be because the game doesn't turn on "completely", so because of that it doesn't create the file. Some games creat those files after the game goes to the menu, that's why there is loading before it.

At least that's how I understand it.

There's a folder in the game's folder called "Base". That's what he's talking about. You're probably right about the config creation.

Nope, I mean there is suppose to be a folder named "base" in the dishonored 2 folder, which has the config file in it. I'm saying that folder is missing too, so I'm thinking that might be something wrong

I just searched for "saved games" in the start menu, popped right up.

You missed my point...I told you that I found the saved games and dishonored 2 folder, I just don't have the base folder and the config file in it

Oh, ok. Now I get it.

I guess you don't have the folder, because of the reason I gave earlier. I guess you have to wait for the patch, because I doubt the files, even taken from somewhere else, would help you

log in with the admin account? take ownership of the arkane folder and its sub folders?

...that doesn't even make sense. There is almost no chance this has anything to do with folder ownership.

Tech support over 8years.

I'm encountering the same issue. The ini file doesn't get created the game crashes prior to this being created. Someday Arkane will update the game to a playable state.

That won't work.

I have a similar problem like the original poster. Except I am lucky that I have a laptop that does run dishonored 2 on extremely low graphic setting.

So I "borrowed" the config file over to my desktop PC to see if it is a config creation problem. Nope it still crash at the same point.

I also tried set dishonored 2 to run under window 8 compatilibity. No luck thus far.
