PS4 version performance better?
Hi guys, I need an advice. I still have some performance problems...even with yesterday patch. (6700k+1070+16gb ram,win10 64bit, Very High preset). You know, stuttering, frameskipping (worst with controller) and so on but game should be playable I quess. Only think that puts me off is the camera. I'm afraid they won't fix this so easily and therefore I'm starting to think about PS4 version.

My question is, if PS4 (I've got PS4 Pro) has better performance? I mean if frameskipping during your camera movement is still there? I don't mind lesser FPS, if camera is fluid.

Thx

You can get about the same perf with your rig if you download nvidia inspector http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-profile-inspector-download.html

- Disable Ansel (there's two options in the dishonored 2 nvidia inspector profile, turn them both off)
- Set prerendered frames to 1 (reduces input lag, critical if you lock the game at 30 fps)
- Vsync to 1/2 refresh rate
- Vsync tear control to either Adaptive (if you don't mind tearing) or Standard (if you want better image quality)
- Set frame rate limiter to 30 fps (frame rate limiter v2)
- In the options menu set friction to 0 (reduces input lag) and the sensitivity to whatever feels best for you

Extra
- Set anisotropic filtering to 16x (the game doesn't have any AF option on its own and it's really low at default)

And play with Dualshock 4 (download DS4Windows http://ds4windows.com/). That's what i'm doing on a 970 and the game never drops below 30, smooth frame pacing + framerate. At least until they fix performance so i can run it at 60 fps. With your system you shouldn't have a problem.

Edit: This is how my profile looks in nvidia inspector:

Thank you for your help! I think I've tried all of these steps earlier...even frame limit to 30. I'll go through this once again when I''ll be back from work and see the result. If this will make the camera fluid (even in 30fps) I'll stick with these setting.

Ps4 pro performs worse than original ps4 because it forces 4k rendering.

A digital foundry article on the game on Eurogamer comparing performance over all platforms is inevitable. Just wait for that.

From a news post "Our work on Dishonored 2 continues. Update 1.2 development is underway and will address a broader range of issues including performance"

... I'm really not in the slightest bit surprised that Bethesda missed their launch date without getting in full QA and testing. I'm not even sure that as a company, they even understand what full QA and testing means, anymore.

Once a fantastic group of devs, Bethesda has turned into another one of the companies that just makes a mockery of the industry.

Another one that does not understand the difference between a developer (arkane studios) and publisher (bethesda).

Don't know why you even postet it here, maybe you should post something like that in the skyrim special edition or fallout 4 forums?

Ps4 pro doesn't have the juice to run new graphically demanding titles in true 4k, what you are likely to see most of time is upscaling from 1080 with tricks like checkerboarding. That, coupled with set in stone architecture and specs leads to a more or less decent performance, considering its purpose and price tag.

What's even more amazing is how Harvey Smith has his head shoved so far up his own ass that he pretends this is an issue that seems to only affect "some" people.

Tried again all of these steps and framepacing seems to be ok (at 30fps). Thank you. There is an one interesting thing regarding loading after dying. It took soo long. Solved it by switching 2x alt+enter..loading is quick as normal. :) Crazy stuff.

It only affects people who don't drink six cans of beer before playing.
