[Spoilers] [Solved] Mission 9: Delilah Throne Room Bug (Shadow Achievement)

tl;dr - throne room, Delilah won't get off her throne and do whatever the hell she's supposed to do, every attempt to fire the heart at her results in the cutscene ending with me being seen. I'm going a shadow run. Dis bad. Halp. See below for literally everything that you could possibly try to rectify this.


Doing a shadow achievement (be the Outsider's fart and don't let anyone get a whiff of you) run with Corvo, so far so good (was going to be a clean hands run, but someone apparently died in Mission 2 and idk who the hell that was, I have a feeling I might've accidentally immolated someone unconscious while shooting incendiary bolts at bloodfly nests or something.

Get to the throne room. Came up through Jessamine's secret room into the safe room, then went into the throne room. Delilah is just chilling on the throne with three ghostywolfhounds. She doesn't move. I can sneak around the butt of the rightmost ghostwolfhound and plant the corrupt rune on her throne (it's a low-chaos run so here's to non-lethality aw ye). Weirdly she doesn't even bat an eyelid. I place the rune, triggering a short cutscene, and mid-way through that, Miss Observant finally notices me in front of her and rattles off her little speech. I panic and blink up to one of the chandeliers, but she does nothing. This doesn't count as being seen apparently (Checked "Stats" in the menu). The ghostwolves just trail off into the private chambers. Delilah re-seats herself and continues to do nothing at all.
Seems cool. Alright, heart time. Point heart, click, cutscene. Apparently that counts as being seen by the enemy.

Attempt this a few times. Google. One bloke on Youtube says to sneak behind her (they also said that she should be walking the heck around the throne room, painting or whatever). Try that, can't really get an angle since she won't move off her fat ♥♥♥. Reload the save. Trigger speech, blink up to the banner above and behind the throne, wait till Delilah does her little walk to the end of the dais, point heart, click, cutscene, SEEN.

Attempted fixes:
1) Didn't try to place the rune first, blinked around to the window on the left of the throne room, exited onto the Rooftop, broke the wooden planks on the front door of the Throne Room and entered. Walked down the middle of the corridor like a cocky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Delilah deigns to notice me, rattles off her speech, then her ghostwolfhounds attack me. SEEN.

2) Place rune, let Delilah rattle off her speech, blink up to chandelier. Ghostpuppers head off into the back, Delilah sits the heck down again. Follow ghostpuppers, they each go to a different room, easy cheesy. Eliminate one by one, never being seen or remotely detected. Shoot the last ghostdoggo's skull on the ground, Deliah teleports into the room, instantly alerted, fires weird little flames at me. SEEN.

3) My last save before the throne room itself was literally just around the corner at the door, so it didn't trigger any journal checkpoints. Reload there, trace steps back through the private quarters, exit the safe-room, blink around to the elevator (I powered it up beforehand, I just decided to take the route through Jessamine's room.). Take elevator up (ghostwolfhound is on the roof of said elevator for some reason, no idea how it got there, I thought it was supposed to be IN the elevator). Get to rooftop:

3a) enter through the front of the throne room, break planks, walk in like a cocky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Same deal as 1. SEEN.

3b) enter through the left window like the Outsider's fart. Delilah sits on her throne like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and doesn't freaking move. You're clearly related to Jessamine because your royal blood makes you about as active as a pineapple. Aim heart, fire, cutscene. SEEN.

4) Tomorrow (It's currently 2am), I will reload the earliest save I have of this mission, which is entering the Coldridge Canals door from the Dunwall Streets. I'm just gonna speedrun the fug outta that and hope that Delilah is going to be ACTUALLY DOING LEG DAY and walking the HECK around that throne room of hers.



So yeah. I'm tried now and hella grumpy, I was planning on finishing this first run tonight (I've spent like 20 hours or something just slowly working my way through my first run, getting to know the terrain for later runs, finding all the collectibles and whatever, finding what triggers being seen and not seen, etc. It's been pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing and I'm in love with this game as much as I loved the last one (even without Billy Lush's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ic Outsider voice). I want this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievement, I've worked stupidly hard to get it while mapping out the terrain and the surprises. Pls don't make me start again. It was going to be a double, Shadow AND Clean Hands, but maybe a bug, maybe a hidden unconscious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, didn't work out.

scare the dogs away with the one bolt (forget its name since im at work being lazy) then use the heart on her while still out of sight from her. the dogs are what i found gets me the seen notice for my stealth run.

Ah, you absolute legend, it friggin worked. Only had two stinging bolts, so I possessed the last hound, then waited till Delilah started her speech and boom (still weird though, because even when I tried with the hounds there, I was in an undetectable spot above the throne, as high as you can go?)

If you go through the tower without talking to any delilah statues or turning the power back on, delilah will be painting instead of waiting for you on the throne. (There is an alternate route to the throne room through Jessamine's safe room from the first game, at the back-right corner of the second floor.)

I had the same problem and the solution was actually much easier. Once I used the heart on her the dogs disappeared. So I just snuck up behind her and used the heart.

I just stood on top of the chandelier closest to her, and then used the heart.

On my shadow run I just blinked straight from the doorway to the chandelier above her and used the heart on her.

I came in the window, fumble-farted my way all the way over to her diary by the painting. Read the diary, and booked it back up to the ledge while she was still yammering about her perfect world. Her dogs got up and left, and I followed them and killed 2. I couldn't seem to kill the third without her showing up and seeing me, so it got to live.

Padded back to the throne room, blinked to the closest chandelier and used the heart on her from there. She did her, "you've given me back my spirit" speech and asked me to follow her through the painting. I tossed the corrupted rune on the throne and followed her into the painting. Thus far, my stats say I have not been detected, but actually taking her out in any way inside the painting is proving to be some serious mess....

Here's a hint. That's not actually her on the throne once you are inside the painting.

heres this suggestion for yall doing shadow achievement take the increased jump height ability and stick to the ceiling as often as you can until you can knockout/kill everything that can set off a detection on stats
