Does Doppelgänger count as detection?

When they spot the clone, does it count as detection for you or is it equal to like making loud noises?

Hit escape, click Stats, and see if the counter is increased.

Just tried it. Don't think it does. Used one to kill a guard and then it got killed by another. I'm still on 0 detections.

The doppelganger doesn't count as detection. Guards sometimes throw grenades at it and kill themselves and others, which doesn't seem to count as kills against you either. You can also throw an upgraded stun mine on a doppelganger so it knocks out guards that come close to it.
