Duke Abele non-lethal glitch

Can't get this one for sh#t. I'm already on my 4th attempt, and always get stuck on the same stage: a body double wouldn't talk to me (just stuck in a panic mode).
The only way to make him talk, is to shoot a stinger bolt and make him panic "for real" and shortly revert to his normal behavior, but this automatically fails the non-lethal branch. Simply waiting does absolutely nothing. I've cleaned up the map, got all treasures and other goals - he's just sitting in a garden or a throne room yelling and screaming.

I've read some people encountered similar glitch, so I'm wondering if anyone has a workaround (or if there is a specific sequence of completing this quest)...
I really want to complete my first playthrough with zero kills and zero detections, but this quest is just killing me.

I think I got it. Restarted the mission and this time instead of knocking out the real one and then attempting to deal with body-double I went the opposite way and was able to successfully finish the non-lethal route.
In my case the body-double spawned in the duke's room, we've discussed our evil plan, and a minute or so later the real duke walked into the room through the rear stairwell, which made it real easy to finish the quest.
Every attempt which started with knocking out the real duke ended unsuccessfully with that glitch (never-ending panic mode).

This happened to me last time as well and I found if I approached him quickly enough before he entered panic mode that the dialog would start and everything would be fine.

I ran into a glitch where I talked to the double first, set the plan in motion, and the guards took the real duke away. But now he's just in his bed and I only have the option to kill him to complete that objective. The non-lethal completion won't unlock. Guess I'm just gonna have to gut him and move on because I'm not doing the mission over just for that. But definitely save an alternate backup after talking with the double before you set anything in motion just in case you get this bug.
