I think the ending was OK... Wish they followed up on every single person that you effected, especially Paulo and Overseer. Maybe they escaped somehow, did they get worked to death, what happened!? I did a lot of work to get those guys in the boxes and "poof", no follow up.
The story might have been more interesting, if it had focus on just Emily as a playable character. I think the game also might have suffered from having to switch to the idtech 5 game engine partway through development.
For me the boldest ending of the series was the high chaos ending to the Witches of Brigmore, and Dishonored 2’s ending was a bit short and didn’t match up to the Witches ending.
That said, I really do love Corvo's version though Emily's is both fun and canon. Having him look at his old home, either low or high chaos... the things he says in high chaos are just... disturbing sometimes, and don't get me started about how much it hurt when he had to watch the Heart crumble and listen to jessamine's sad statement... oh my god she was so disappointed in him....
