I started with Emily as I've played Corvo in D1. Will be doing like 3 playthroughs though
Here's an article about a) things you would have learned in D1 and b) a short rundown on the differences between Corvo and Emily

Oh, and don't expect to understand everything. This game assumes you've played D1
Unless you've played Dishonored 1 and its DLCs, there are parts that aren't going to make sense, because they are referencing things that happened before the start of Dishonored 2.
It won't matter what any of us are playing at. Your individual rig will have both hardware configurations and software that will be different from anyone else's.
There are a LOT of different variables and options available to you in the menu for the game. I suggest start low or off on things that you won't need to really care about unless you're wanting brilliant screenshot opportunities, like water quality and such. Then move the options upwards until you like the results and can play smoothly.
For my stealth/clean hands run I have chosen Emily, and boy is she fun, sadly she's probably more fun than Corvo. Except that she can't use possession, that ability was the best.
