"Special Actions" / "Side Objectives" - significance beyond achievements?
Do the "special actions" actually have any tangible consequences/rewards? If I don't care about achievements, is it worth giving up like 1-2 hours of progress to load an old save and get some that I missed? Do any of them even impact the story meaningfully, even if they don't have tangible rewards? (I don't mean just "oh, there'll be an extra line of dialogue later in the game" or "if you save this NPC for the side objective, you'll see them in later missions, but they don't really do anything")

I can't seem to find anything like this page that applies to Dishonored 2... I don't see any mention anywhere after searching for rewards for doing special actions or consequences for not doing them, etc... https://dishonored.fandom.com/wiki/Side_Objectives

Note: Robbing black markets can prevent you from getting the Songs of Serkonos achievement since the musicians may be replaced by a Howler ambush.

Some of the side missions offer alternative (non-lethal) ways to complete the primary objective, this is the primary reason for doing some of them. To the best of my knowledge, none of them will make a major impact on story other than by potentially giving you ways to go low chaos.

In dishonored 1 the announcer could comment on what you did in some missions, so I reckon that it's the same in this game. It's not significant, aside from giving you some resources after you complete them, but they are not worth it to reload a save file if you're more than half an hour away from that point. Do them in new game plus if you wish to do them.
Appreciated, thanks!

Are you sure about this? I think this explains why I have never gotten that achievement. I always rob the shops and there is always a Howler ambush at one of them towards the end.

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to know.

Yes. I've read this in numerous places trying to answer my original question. The reason is the black market is associated with one of the gangs, and if you steal too much, gang members start hanging out near the black market to guard them, and they can scare off the musicians
