I think Dishonored 2 has one of the most horrible fighting systems in the world ...
Just started playing the game and already hate the fighting system ...

I try to kill all enemies as sneaky as possible but sometimes I have to fight ... and even if you have a plan how you do it OR you have only 1 Enemy you mostly die to bugs ... 1. Im at an overseer office with 3 of the "Cultists" in it ... I try to kill the overseer with my bow having my bow sight nice and red on his head from 1 m distance just to shoot the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing machine 5 cm away from his head to his left ... kill him fast but his 2 "brothers" came in I try to block them but there is no highliting of the Parrier symbol (and yea its buggy since the beginning and doesnt seem to be fixable I already tried deactivating and reactivating it ...) so I go on my parry if they start hitting thing but parried to fast only to get killed because somehow his hit just goes right through my block ... this game is so annoyingly buggy already in the first 1 Hour of the game and unplayable in fights ....

Are you using a controller? Because none of that should happen with a k/m.

Also, just because you kinda suck at the combat, doesn't mean it's a bad system. It's an excellent combat system, you need practice.

Well, keep trying or figure out what is wrong. I have zero problems with the combat.

The combat in this game is pretty great, you just need to get gud
The game has one of the best first-person fighting systems ever in a game. It just takes practice.

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim just recently (for the first time) and I have to say the combat in that game is *horrible* particularly compared to this one.

The game promotes gleeful killing with many of the skills, yet stealth play is more rewarding...

An odd combination which I don't know what to really make of.

No kills isn't the same as not being 'discovered'.

I just remember to quicksave often and move on.

Builds make a difference I'm sure. Example: early I chose the modifier for parry that allows me to choke to knockout on a successful parry regardless if they swing or not, facing me or not, etc.

This allows me to teleport right up to them and spam the parry till I have them in a chokehold for non lethal. Feels cheesy, but it works... Like I said, I don't really know what to make of it, playing for the story more than anything.

IMO, Dishonored 2 features one of the best fighting systems ever. You can play high or low chaos. I've finished several missions without killing anybody (except clockwork soldiers). Honestly, I think it's a pretty f..king amazing game.

I dunno what you are talking about. Crossbow bolts fall at range until you upgrade, and bullets from the pistol arent very accurate. Maybe your game is lagging or something what kind of framerates are you getting?

The fighting system is amazing. You should just play around with it.

I wouldn't say the combat, as in just the fighting is that great, but the fighting is more than suficient to support the rest of the gameplay

I absolutely agree. Got enough hours, finished the game enough times. The combat is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess. I'd record all the ♥♥♥♥ happening to me if it were my priority, but since nobody is ever going to fix this game, I will not bother. Dishonored 1 had a more simple, easier, but at least a more reliable combat system. I've played dishonored1 much more and never got as angry. Getting hit from 3m, by a sword? Not parrying a clear parry? Getting hit while the guard swings the other direction? getting shot 4 times in a second because "that's fun haha"? And besides all the ♥♥♥♥ that's happening in combat that makes me want to remove the game... Why do the guards treat other people one way, but drop nukes immediately as they see a young girl with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scarf on her face? I love dishonored, but this giving me pain.

The best way I think is to find a spot to wait and observe the scene (save the game) until you can see an isolated enemy then sneak up on them stab them in the throat then quickly hide. Repeat this, slowly picking off enemies leaving a trail of corpses behind. If you get detected and are suddenly surrounded by enemies you are better off loading the last save and trying again.

Being stealthy and stabbing soldiers in the face is so much more satisfying than trying to have a sword fight.

No offense, but this discussion is over 3 years old.

Its what I like to call the batman thesis. Basically, you know that going full lethal and blasting through the game is gonna be more easy and will flow a lot faster, but you get the bad ending. It essentially gives you 2 equally fun ways to play (although I enjoy stealth ghost most, as it makes encounters like a puzzle), but posits the stealth ending as the best ending.
